Is technical primer an actual primer or just paint?

What is the source - not enough info in your post to make an assessment.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Personally I find the GW primer to be useless, it's a watered down pot of black paint that doesn't seem to cover well. It's been useless to me as both a primer and layer black.

I should have mentioned that I use Halford's car primers. They do a variety of colours too.

This is a misconception that I have seen popping up a lot lately. Primer is NOT meant to provide a solid opaque coat, your base coat it. Primer is meant to prepare the model substrate for the base coat. That being said, I feel the GW stuff is crap, I prefer Vallejo Primer through my airbrush, or the p3 Primer.

Thanks only just realising the importance of primer, I too thought it was just a "first" coat of paint
