Greetings fellow dakka people. I have recently got my hands on a small bretonnian army (30 figures) and I would like to use them as a empire army aswell. anyways.

My question is this, does anyone know of a good alternative to GW miniatures for human foot soliders/knights? Preferably in the medevil era?

Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

There's probably a lot more, those are just the first 2 that came to mind.

Perry Miniatures 100 Years War plastic sets HERE and HERE. They are, however, a bit smaller than GW minis. Comparison shots HERE.

They are alot smaller, so much so that its very noticeable. If you play casually they are fine, if you went to a tournament or anywhere there's a paint score many judges would knock your score and people would shake their heads as they look at your mixed force.

That being said, a pure force made of Perry's etc would be fine IMHO.

I wanted to use Perry Civil War Cavalry for Rough Riders in my guard, and they were soooo much smaller then the regular figures.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

Had sometime to pull some images from Foundry - a lot of this stuff Is sculpted by the Perry's and other ex-Citadel designers and in fact some of it (such as the medieval range) was once part of GWs original range... I have stacks of Bretonnian archers that are now sold by Foundry in the medieval range.

GWs minis are so laughable bloated that it makes mixing in anything else difficult.

A 'pure' force of some other manufacturer's miniatures would look OK though, I'd think!
