We're all mad as march hares here!

Mad for hobbying that is!

What do you have folks have in store for your hobby time tea parties?

Mine isn't too big this time around... Just want to get a squad of 5 termies painted...

I'm keeping it light this Month because for a good portion of this month and next month I'm abstaining from hobby stuff... for religious reasons... but I'll be right back at it late April

Let us know what you'll have going on this mad March!

-Frank

goals for this month are a bit up in the air.

at the least, I'll finish up the stormtalon I started magnetizing last month. from there, I'm going to take a break from my salamanders army and start back up on my night lords. not sure where I'll start, though. it'll either by a squad of 10 raptors (2 already complete), a squad of 10 chaos marines or possibly a pair of vindicators. we shall see!

Well, I'm on another site called www.scalemodeladdict.com. Devoted to scale models mainly, but there's some gaming stuff posted there.

They have a Big Spring Contest going from March to May, with decent prizes, so that's gonna be my hobbyin' for a while.

I'd really like to work on my Eldar stuff and some general figures for my collection, but I also love the competitive side of painting.

Hey dj, I see you're in Denver. Did you go to Genghis Con? I go every year and had a lot of fun this time. Was into the painting comp.

Well I had an awesome February hobby wise, so I want to try and repeat the success as much as I can, however, March is going to be very busy with other things, so I'm not going to be too strict. It's all about the spezz marines this month. In an ideal world, I want to complete the following:

The ten man devastator squad I failed to finish in feb
A 5 man sniper scout squad
A 5 man vintage lightening claw termie squad

Stretch goals include making some asteroids for x wing, and working on four infinity minis (aleph)

I didn't even realize there was a con so I missed it lol. I still have to put out more feelers around here. I'm still not familiar with the events and stuff out here.

I picked up a new Grey Knights army from a friend in early February, so I've been getting all of the unfinished or unopened models put together for the last few weeks.

For March I'll try to:

Decide on a color scheme and base coat everything (I caved and went with silver...)

Paint 10 Termies (ended up finishing 5) and a 10 man Strike Squad, and maybe if I manage to finish that I'll start the Dreadknight.

Update - Ended up getting way more done in the last few days than I had expected, so maybe I'll add painting my Librarian, Draigo, and Grand Master so the list. Coteaz and a Xenos Inquis sort of replaced the Libby and Draigo...

Since I have school (and work, since I now just got a job) that is taking prescience over most of my life until the end of April almost, my goals are going to be kind of like light possibly for the next few months:

Main Goals:
Paint up at least my starting gang of nine models for my Van Saar Nercomunda gang
Finish painting up pMorghoul since I started him already.
Get started (and hopefully finish) painting my starting gang of ten models for my Chaos Cawdor Nercomunda gang.

Stretch goals:
Finish painting all my Van Saar models.
Finish painting all the Chaos/ Chaos Cawdor models I have for Nercomunda and Kill Team.
Finish painting up my 15 pts of Skorne I own.

My personal blog. Aimed at the hobby and other things of interest to me

The obligatory non-40K/non-Warmahordes player in the forum.
Hobby Goals and Resolution of 2017: Paint at least 95% of my collection (even if getting new items). Buy small items only at 70% complete.

I did rubbish in Feburary so I need to change that this month!

1. Completely finish Tactical Squad - 5 to go
2. Build and Paint Vindicator
3. Start next squad (probably devestators)
4. Decide what to do with Imperial Knight if I am able to pick one up tomorrow morning!

I will likely be fairly busy with work the whole month so I should set modest goals.

Assemble and paint Soviet AA halftracks for FoW
Assemble, detail and paint an HO scale section house kit I intend to use as scenery for FoW
Assemble and at least prime both my BF Tiger and King Tiger, Possibly make a start on the actual painting.

I will also start the assembly process on a 1:35 scale KV-2 kit that's gathering dust. I can do little bits of that each night after work when I can't be bothered painting.

Good luck on your goal! It sounds super awesome!

I've been kind of going overboard a bit the past 6 months when its come to hobby related stuff so I'm using Lent as an excuse to step back and breathe a little.

Man I should find something to give up for lent, thanks for the reminder

My goals for the month are to:
1) Finish up deadzone assembly (just gonna be bending and gluing things to bases!)
2) Prime EVERYTHING in my primer box (2.5k of BT, deadzone, 2 dreadball teams, all my gangs from Blackwater Gulch, and Dreadfleet)
3) Finish painting my 2 Cygnar Warjacks

Final touches on 10 guardians

Finish my wraithlord
Wave serpents x2

Stretch goal: start my freehand dragon motif on my crimson hunter. Hopefully my painting is good enough to make it work!

Not too much is going to be done in March sadly because I need to start the early Spring-ish cleaning. Need to focus heavily on my hobby table and the corner it has consumed. Then at the end of the month Diablo 3 expansion is coming out and I know that will eat at least a week of my time and humanity. But I will be doing some.

Last year at his time I bought a whole bunch of Feilds of Glory Romans for the Ides of March. This year I am finally going to get around to building and painting at least ten as a tribute to Caesar.

So...

Ten Roman Hastati
Steel Legion Lt squad- failed to complete in February, only three out of the five left.
Five Mordians- Got one done yesterday.

If I get the cleaning done early and Diablo does not consume my soul, I will build and paint 5 Roman light Cav and work on some more Heresy Dark Angels.

After my big fail for February I'm going for a tidy up month in March:

Complete part-painted squad of 6 Deathwing Terminators
Complete squad of 10 mostly painted Tactical Marines

Stretch goals:
Continue work on:
7 more Deathwing Terminators - basecoat and armour highlights already done
2x Tactical Marine squads - already basecoated

Is no fun, is no Blinsky!

So I made my month's goal. I got really into painting my Termie's this past weekend.

As a sort of stretch goal I thought I'd get started on a 5 man squad of scouts for my black templar. Almost done with that.... Tomorrow is the last day of hobby stuff before my hiatus but I'm sure I can make it... I just have to figure out how to use the transfer sheet that comes with the kits. On the crusaders and termies I was able to get shoulder pads with the Black Templar emblem molded on them ... with scouts I'm working with as is... I was toying with the idea of freehand but my hand is totally not steady enough for that sort of thing. Time to look up some 'how to' vids.

Good luck, I shall be looking at your thread now for inspiration!

I am out of superglue, which means no working on deadzone (or other games I have to work on) till I resupply. I may try to paint today, but the water in the house I am at is.... horrible to say the least.

As always I am way off from the list I had planned on working on. On the list I got another Mordian painted and got 5 Romans built. Things I had not planned on working on I got all my Battlefeet Gothic models on bases and primed, I built all of my Dark Angels and will be priming them today, and finished painting my FoW Veitnam Slick and Hog choppers.

If I get time after work tonight I am going to finish building the 10 Romans and prime them. After I get some rest I will work on the Dark Angels and try to finish my Steel legion Lt.

Other than some washing and a few minor touchups, the Warjacks are just about done! Oh and the base. Not sure what I am going to do there.

Well, a complete fail for me on this front, however, a successful hobby month overall. Built and painted some asteroids for xwing. Edited a couple of Hubble images and ordered them printed on vinyl to use as gaming mats, and got in a fair few games of x wing as well as space hulk. Also sort of started a gaming group. Happy despite missing my targets.

Build a 4' x 4' gaming surface: DONE and made it 4'x 8' so we could have 2' on the end for dice/books/etc.
DA Tac Squad Sergeant : DONE
Finish Pristine Condition DA Rhino: DONE

****Can see both of these in my Plog thread <shameless plug>

Start and Finish DV DA Librarian: Started but not Finished
Cloak and Armor Is done. Working on the metalics, face, weapon, fine details.

Stretch Goals:
I got the game table, the sergeant done for the gaming day, the 2nd rhino was only base coated and the Libby was primed.

It was GREAT time! We made lots of mistakes and took 9 hours to play two games. I took OK batrep notes but my pictures were pretty poor and my opponents armies were in various states of WIP (a good deal were unpainted or just base markers). So while I wrote up the batrep, I'm not gonna post it. Our next game day is scheduled for the 26th. I might even have time to get my extra unit done for a 750 point game!

Well I was about right. Diablo III expansion turned out good and I really did not get much painted. I managed to get two Mordians on the list done but thats it. On the bright side I got two Hueys for FoW done and filled in the gaps on the other 6 and the two crashed objectives. I also started work on my Germans.
