To be fair the US probably seems very weird to them.

Wow... I laughed quite a lot, but by the gods I love japan

Apparently (according to the band's Wiki page) , this is a fusion of "idol pop" and metal, known as "Kawaii Metal" - I'm not sure if I love it or hate it, but it's stupidly catchy, that's for sure...

I think Dutch people are weird, Americans even more so, but Japanese people are really on a completely different level of weirdness...
Now I am confused... Do I like this or not?

Weird? Yes.

But to fully reach the full heights of confusion it requires the unintelligible dialogue of Jeff Bridges!

That is not weird! It would have been weird if there would be an American who could actually speak clear, intelligible English
Sorry guys, I just like making fun of Americans and I really have no right of speech here, as I tend to ghave a rrratherr gheavy slavic aksent and found it hard to make myself understandable in the UK

I was going to say it has cute Asian girls, but upon closer inspection they looked even younger than normal...I looked up their ages. 16, 14, 14...
I'm going to pass on this one, thanks...

I think this cracked article sort of explains why people perceive Japan as strange.

To our Western sensibilities, it looks like Lovecraft went anime, but most Japanese viewers probably reacted with a shrug before flipping back to their tentacle porn.

It's probably a testament to Cheesecat's point that Westerners are so familiar with tentacle porn even thought it makes a very small faction of the total porn produced in Japan

How do I know this... Hats know things... That is all.

I spent 3 years there ... let me assure you, the only ones who will understand are those of Asian heritage. They have a mind set much different than what I was used to. I had to beg my GF to walk side by side with me when we would go to Hachinohe mall. They have Beer machines like we have soda pop machines, all out in public for anyone to buy.

OT: I actually was digging the music until it turned to some sort of Kesha song, but it went back to the hateful gak again after a bit. Not bad really.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

Squatting with the squigs

Wth was that. The dancing manoeuver with the pointing at the head ? Have I time travelled back to the 80's glam metal era, where the bands have been replaced by overly young girls ( truth be said most glam metal singers looked like ugly girls) . I think I need to find some drugs to take away any memory of this...thing i just saw.

I don't see how Japan is really much weirder than America. Simply being different doesn't necessarily means that it is weird. Kawaii is a big deal over there as well as in China, RoK, and other Asian countries to a lesser extent. There isn't really a fascination with cuteness in America. America is really the opposite. There is definite fascination with violence and hyper masculinity in various media.
