What did I just buy? I know it's the Imperial Sector, but how do I put it together?

I guess, I am use to the numbers that GW tells me what goes where. So my question is, for those who bought it, what did you guys do?
From what I can see, you can make what ever your imagination tells you. Well I just wanted to put a building together and now I can't
follow the instructions, because I don't know what should go where.

Just asking to get me started. I mean there is lots of different sprues, but I don't know what should go to what individual building. I went
to the GW site, but they don't show the sprues to the individual buildings. So why should, or I mean how should I get started?

Grab some blue tac or similwr and just start building. Get something that feels rigt for you whether it's one big building or lots of small ruins, just go ma experimenting and once you're happy glue it.

Make sure you shave down mold lines and bits of flash on everything. Those models are designed to fit flush, and a little extra care should be taken to make sure they do.

biggest tip i can give you is bluetac and test your fits first, and start with a corner section, then expand. another thing i did was sort our simaler pieces, so the buildings would look uniform. make sure you test, check it and test then check again before you glue. because they look like crap when you have to pull them apart to fix something, because 4 floors up things re off center or un even.

Also note that these kits were not meant to create fully enclosed buildings without some extra work.

I'd also advice filing off the tips of the pointy rails, many people (including me) have injured themselves on those. Unless you want to paint your army with your own blood, of course.

The problem I had was fitting 3 sides to slab. It was too big, but seemed to fit when placed on top of the walls. Looked odd, but worked.
I made a 4-panel wide front of a building, with an extended porch section. It sort of works, but I wish I'd not bothered.

Or, as the pictures show, just make corner sections.

If you can get into a GW store, most of them have some of these built up. Some of them are huge.
Look at that and see what they did. get hands-on, if there's a store near you.

Haha, man, that just conjured up the image from one game I played... my group has a pegasus hobbies church, with the pointy towers (the one below, in fact) and one of my friends lowered his head down to the table for some LoS-checking when he managed to get a tower jammed up his nose. Looked painful but also hilarious.

The beauty of the GW buildings is that there isn't a "right" way to build them.
You can set them up pretty much any way you like, and it will still work.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Thank you guys, greatly appreciated for all your tips.

Honestly dude, you made a horrible investment.

I was overwhelmed when I opened the box. Unbelievably there are no friggen instructions.

You can make 3 of the reg buildings and then there are enough left overs to make a 4th structure of your choosing.

I had to use the pictures on the box to put my buildings together. The paper they called instructions were crap.

Uh, that's the whole point of that box?
