I had the most awesome thought. Here go:

Now that we have gargantuan creatures as part of 40K (i.e., Escalation), rules for Daemon Primarchs could be written that would better speak to the awesomeness of the background.

Except they probably wouldn't actually use the Gargantuan Creatures rules seeing as the Primarchs in the Horus Heresy rules are plain old Monstrous Creatures...

Errr, what? They aren't MCs. They are Infantry. Just... really huge infantry.

Also most of the primarchs that ascended to daemonhood got huge in the process. Fulgrim and Angron immediately come to mind. Just go look at their old Epic models being the same size as Imperial Knights.

Misremembering the rules, don't mind me. I don't know that miniatures-scale-wise Epic is a good place to go, the scale between models doesn't necessarily line up with 40k models in all cases. As for guidelines on the rules I'm looking at the Battle for Armageddon rules on Angron and the Betrayal rules on Angron, the stats are very similar (+1 WS/BS, -1I, -1Sv for the Daemon Angron) and he's a Monstrous Creature, not a Gargantuan Creature.
