I want to look like a total badass while playing Warhammer at my FlGS, and a Commisar cap is where I would start. Yeah, I play nids, but you cant exactly buy Crushing claws and Carapace. And wearing a full on long coat and IG uniform is a little far. So, where can I get a commisar cap for cheap, hopefully between 20-40 USD

Remember, it is not the hat that makes the commissar, but the commissar that makes the hat. Anyhow, grab yourself a WW1 British peaked hat, and you can go 1 of 2 routes, and get a FW brass aquila for the iconography, or make the thing yourself. Thus is the challenge that every commissar faces in the test of if he is worthy to wear the hat.

On a side note, just go ahead and pick yourself up a great coat and see if you can find one of the Tannith First and Only backpacks. At that point, you are perfectly within your rights to smile, but until you pick up an Imperial Guard Army, you are not allowed to swagger around or carry around a stereo that plays just classical tunes on loop such as Flight of the Valkyries.

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct. We have given the horror a name to salve our fears; we call it the Tyranid race, but if is aware of us at all it must know us only as Prey."

lol

Anyways, the best way to get exactly what you're looking for is to make it yourself. There are dozens of people who have made commissar hats for cosplay, and a cursory google image search will direct you to their blogs. You could then contact them about their hats, and might well get some patterns, at least, or possibly even offers for them to make one for you. That might cost more than you're looking to spend, though.

You would have to take that up with with Ailaros, as he is a far better Guard player than I. I am fuzzy on that specific, though I believe you must own at minimum a Lemon Russ in order to have that right. Baneblades look better, but can be construed as over the top.

Any peaked millitary cap will do. Especially if there is an eagle on it. Out of the top of my head, modern Russian and WW2 German hats have eagles on them. If you want a real Commissar cap, you'll probably have to make one yourself.

Where would I even begin to look for one of those? It seems like that would be increadibly hard to find. A replica may be a bit easier, but that still seems like something you'll never see.

There are several websites you can get nazi caps. Ebay has some cheap A-SS caps (the classic black ones). They wont stand up well to use and are probably unauthentic but for your purpose they will work.

Try hessen-antique.com. They sell hats like that. They may even have black greatcoats too. Oh, and as a suggestion get one of the belts and get a buckle custom made with Imperial insignia to really make the look.

I would highly recommend getting a reproduction as nazi caps are highly sought after. They can run you several hundred dollars depending on condition and size. Repros go for about $20-100 depending on the quality, seller and maker.

Yeah, I'd want to get a replica as I'd be cutting off the Nazi-Ball, as I call it, under the eagle, and probably the skull. I wouldnt feel comfortable doing that to a real one.

Oh, yeah, and the -Minor- problem of people having probably been killed by some one wearing the hat. But like I said -Minor-
As for pauldrons, I dont need them. IG dont have pauldrons the size of new jersey, only the SM

You should consider keeping the skull. Skulls are so very Warhammer.

That is a Russian VDV hat, not an Albanian one. Albanian hats are probably very difficult to find.
