I have a bunch of old tyranid stuff but with the new book I think a list like this would work better.

7 fmc, 3 of which are synapse, a back field synapse troop maker and out flanking dev gants. Should play fast.

Unless I missed some FAQ, you cannot ally tyranids with tyranids. So this list is illegal. If you want 3 or 4 flyrants, you need to do 2 FoC, which you can't at 1850.

It's possible to have 3 flyrants if he were to use a formation from the Leviathan Rising II dataslate, and I think it's 1 flyrant, 3 gargoyles, 2 harpies and a crone and it lets gargoyles take objectives.

He'd have to rework his list a bit to do that though.

I was wondering about that, I thought you can ally with your own army- I'll check the FAQ.

You can't if you are playing Tyranids. Tyranids get the shaft in all ways when it comes to allies.

That's true. He could actually have 4 flyrants if he wanted. But I was simply talking about not being able to ally with yourself if you are tyranids.

Yep. Sadly, you can not ally with yourself.

The dataslates are what fixes the lack of allies for Nids, they are very cool actually, Im looking forward to trying out the Living Artillery Node, Skyblight Swarm and Deathleapers Assassin Broods Formations. they are all cool and basically work like allies.
