He's asking, "What special and heavy weapons are favored by certain chapters?"

Imperial Fists prefer bolters of all stripes, I'd think, according to their bolter drill rules. But I think they also favor lascannons because of their extra Tank Hunters rules, and their siegecraft history.

Salamanders obviously love flame and melta weapons.

I'm not sure where everyone gets the idea that Dark Angels love plasma (I've got the idea too), but apparently that's a meme.

I don't think many other chapters have "preferred weapons."

I think it's because their terminators can take plasma, the tac squads in DV are decked out with plasma and one of their iconic units (the Darkshroud) uses plasma. Kind of hard not to make that assumption.

Yeah. That was the question. Sorry if I was unclear.

Dark Angels' plasma thing is because in their 3e codex, they were the only Marines who got plasma cannons in their tactical squads.

Arguably, Blood Angels are more about flamers than melta, since they're the only ones outside the Sororitas these days who get hand flamers. The infernus pistols are just because one of their unique characters pioneered the idea.

They got them biker fellas with plasmas aswell.

Dakka banner seems to favor regular bolter variants aswell.

Dark talon has those stasis and rift weapons on the Dark talons.

I think the Dark Angels had a background reason for the plasma as well. I remember it being because they were the 1st legion they had a gak load of plasma weapons.

Probably also because they seem to hate enemy Marines a lot (As proven by the Deathwing Knight maces, PE:CSM etc) and plasma is one of the more effective weapons in such battles.

This.

In more recent fluff, it's also because they're alright with newer, more experimental and more dangerous gear, like the stuff on those vehicles.

Blood angels are gun slingers. They have more unique pistols than just about anyone. They also have those special swords and angelus boltguns. The angelus boltguns are also really pistols mostly.

That is it.

They were the first legion to get access to the new Plasma weaponry and as such had it in larger numbers than the other Legions.

Its not quite true anymore, they likely don't have an appreciably larger amount of Plasma than other Chapters.

Imperial Fists would be all about the humble Bolter too, with their Bolter-Drills and whatnot.

I would say the Ultramarines might like the tactical flexability of Missile Launchers.

that would make sense for the space wolves as well given how often they are asked to fight other marines (thousand sons & the other two legions)

I have no idea where I read that the DA love Plasma, but I am sure I read that in some official fluff somewhere.. plus they even have loads of it in the latest boxed set, maybe its in one of the books in Dark Vengeance?
