Howdy all,

So we know IG is on the doorstep, and heavy rumors have orks in June, What do people think the releases will look like following? After IG and Orks we have blood angels, space wolves, Dark Eldar, Grey knights and Necrons. What do you guys think will be coming this year?

I think Wolves have been rumored after orks. I just don't know what they want to release for them. A flier, maybe wulfen and plastic chars.

This actually would be an amazing release. It has special rules on how to handle your primary army book and it's supplement, your ally book and it's supplement, the BRB, the dataslate, escalation, Stronghold assault, the Inquisition dex, the IK codex, and FAQs all into a simple Book Organization Chart. Just kidding, there are no FAQs!
But a book on how to manage 9 other books does seem like a great direction for GW.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

On top of Wulfen & a flier or two of their own, I could see GW giving them back their looted Russ tanks, but making it a brand new variant that only the Space Puppies have, ala BA's Baal Predator. (so that all the IG players can whine about SW's players treading all over their army's iconic specialty!)

Supplement: Black Templars seems like such a blatantly obvious supplement that it isn't going to happen. Same with World Eaters, Word Bearers, Death Guard etc.

We'll probably get "Supplement: Orks with names starting with an 'F'" before any of the above...

I suspect Orcs and BA will release around the same time as the new set that is coming out in November. As far as anything else goes? I don't know...

I hope Dark Eldar doesn't have to wait another 12 years lol. Would be awesome to get a model for Vect and the baron.

Do DE really need a release though? They have plenty of poison and lance weapons in an environment filled with superheavies and MC. I never see them used much, but I don't see them having a difficult time with the current edition.

Can we PLEASE stop with the chapter specific flyer releases? There are multiple perfectly servicable space marine flyers and no need to make up more just to fill up another separate chapter codex. Get rid of the stupid DA flyers, too, and give all marine chapters access to the Stormtalon and the Stormraven and call it a day. We don't need any more chapter specific tanks either.

There are aspects that can be improved. They're definitely a middle tier codex. Also, they've got models that don't exist for codex entries...

DE just want a piece of that sweet, sweet power creep.

EDIT: I do hope they hurry up with a DE release. I want to make an Evil Spess Elvz army, but don't want to get burned by a crap codex release.

People are getting overly hyped about that. I'm convinced that it's just going to be a revised rulebook with the Escalation and Stronghold Assault rules baked in.

Codex suppliments anyone? Bad moons, Catachan, Steel Legion, (im really hoping for Vostroyan, but I doubt it).
Next major codex? I'd bet on wolves, possibly blood angels. After that, I think the next major update would have to be Dark Eldar...but that would be over a year from now.

im expecting the same, too soon for a brand new edition, I expect it to be more of a 6.5 with slight rules changes and a new starter set. I'd also like to see GW put out some sort of compilation book of all the dataslates / e-releases but I guess putting out a print version like that would somewhat defeat the purpose of the e-release

I can tell you what they won't release this year.
plastic Sisters of Battle. (or anything new for that matter.)
Legion specific Chaos anything.
Bretonians.

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.

Well, even just hypothetically guesstimating...

April; IG
May; Wood Elves!?
June; random junk
July; 40k 6.5 compilation rulebook + assorted junk
August; Fantasy supplement + assorted junk (or better yet, Plastic Greater Daemons!!! - hey a girl can dream damnit... )
September; 40k 6.5 box game w/BA's vs. Orks
Oct; Orks Codex
Nov; Bretonnians!?!
Dec; new Hobbit add-ons + typical Xmas junk (pretty please plastic Greater Daemons GW?)

Brets are possible, maybe not likely, but still possible.

Wolfknight. A giant Chewbacca looking monstrous creature.

This is obviously the direction they've taken the game.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
