Already have this poll posted here with the Army List: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/583681.page but figured a dedicated thread would generate more results. Basically as the title suggests I am looking for nickname ideas for my Elysian Drop Troops Regiment and though I have been thinking of a few, I would love to have input from you guys as to what you think would be a good Regimental Nickname for a Veteran Elysian Drop Troop Regiment. The three I have been Considering:

-Iron Eagles
-Helljumpers
-Warhawks

Please feel free to flex your creative muscles and lets see what you guys think would be a good Regimental Nickname or if you like one of the ones I mentioned, either one goes. Counting on you Generals!

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.

Helljumpers is pretty generic, and Warhawks is the name of the other famous Drop Regiment (Harakoni Warhawks, they wear carapace armour and deploy via hangglider).

Iron Eagles doesn't really roll off the tongue very well. You want something that flows, so a softer sound in the middle of the name would be better.

My Elysians are the Sunshiners, named after their habit of deploying from orbit with magnesium-laced re-entry shields and making night or dawn attacks. When the Solstice Lunar III 'Sunshiners' are coming, you know about it because the sky lights up like it's midday.

You like a mix of melta and plasma, so something fire or sun based would be appropriate. How about;

Hellfire Rain
Firebirds
Firestorm Legion
Flaming Crows
Stormcrows
Phoenixfire Warriors
Firefallers

Helljumpers is the name of the Halo ODSTs...
I agree with Miko's post though.
I quite like Firefallers.

I believe it's from "Reign of Fire" (or was it 20 seconds?).

How about "Airheads"?

Take care

That one is very good.

I actually think this is the best one thus far.
I don't know, maybe it's because of my obsession with Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire (you know, with members of the Night's Watch called crows).

But seriously, it's pretty epic if you ask me.

But if that name is picked, the leader needs to be named Gandalf.

My suggestions:
The Soaring Peregrines
The Wings of Doom
The Winged Hammer (because the IG is the Emperor's hammer)
Deathbringers from the Sky

Yep, just checked Lexicanum. UM successors, staunch traditionalists, follow the Codex Astartes. But who knows? More likely than not, the IG have probably never heard of them.
I personally like Paradigm's suggestion, the Ninety-Niners, shoddy equipment sounds like something the IG would have.

If i had to chose one of the three I would say Iron Eagles, Helljumpers sound abit heretical and theres already the Harkoni Warhawks.
For a alternate name he first thing that jumped into my head was Wind Riders, it seems appropriate for a veteran Elysian unit as they might feel more at home riding in a Valkeyrie or a gravchute than anything else. For me the Crimson Cavaliers came from the fact that I used alot of mech or "armored cavalry" made my regiment from a Knightworld, and gave infantry red armor, I wanted a theme and my regimental moniker to match it.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
