Well, actually in this case, no. I still love the company, and the products and the games. Just because some articled clerk in their legal department has been given a brief to send a letter to every small producer does not detract from my love affair with the game. For me, "GW" actually means the games designers, not everyone else.
I still buy their products and I generally support them. I created LaserCutCard to give me things that they could not... so I don't really feel like I am treading on their toes.
For instance (and spoiler alert... there is a blatant bit of self promotion coming up) if they had a complete and comprehensive range of necron scenery then maybe that would be different, but why should I use their imperial aegis for my necron army? I'd rather make my own, and if you want a copy of what I made, then hey... I'd love to supply it to you.
Just placed an order for the container shops. Very interested to see how these look on my necromunda table

Converted containers are a great idea, and suit any period from modern day to sci-fi far future. Definitely a fast way to build a temporary 'village' or post-apocalyptic town etc.
Hmm, one on the back of a truck might make an interesting light armoured personnel carrier...

I looked but couldn't find one with miniatures.. saw the unpainted ones and the ones with the wine bottle (subliminal message ) but no scale picture.. any chance you could link or just drop it in here?

We set up a 4'x4' table to test terrain density with the shipping containers we have and this was the result. We need to think about getting some bigger pieces if we ever want to offer an entire container board.
Some of the little "scenes" you can set up are really cool though...

Might I suggest a park pack. Park benches, a slide of two (short one for toddlers and big one for larger kids), maybe a newspaper coin operated dispenser, street lamps, assorted signs, a teeter totter, possibly a swing set with or without monkey bars (though I'd vote for monkey bars).

Any sort of crane set would work really well with the containers. A rail set would be interesting, especially if you designed it so it could be built either at ground level or as an elevated train with supports.
Automatically Appended Next Post: As a matter of fact, if you designed the train right, you could make it match up to any style with the correct accessories. The basic smooth sided engine and cars could be used as either a modern/near future train or subway train, where a gothic accessory kit could make it either steampunk or grimdark and a post apoc accessory kit would make it post apoc or orcy. Lots of possibilities!

I don't know about where you guys are in the world but most of the containers that go on ships here are about 20' long and 8'x8' for H and W. It would certainly help to fill in the board Your current ones are 99mm or 3.9". To scale with the 20' it would be 127mm or 5". It's not that big of a difference but it definitely adds up. (edit: Note this is for 1/48 which is pretty close to most 28mm figures.. GW's figures don't follow any specific scale closely and proportions are not consistent for their humanoids, so sometimes scale is weird for them.)
I'm am positive I've seen these released previously... at least the shipping office and containers... a few years back at least. Are they re-releases or are there changes over the original kit?

You are absolutely correct - the site office and shops used to be in the store. They have been re-released with these changes
- all the modified containers now fit together the same way, so that once you have built any one of them, you can easily build any of the others
- the site office and the houses (a brand new kit) now have a different accessories set (2 sets of steep sets, a walkway and a platform) which makes them more fit in with the urban slum feel and lets you set them up so that there are steps leading to all levels.
- the way the files are laid out for cutting has been optimised and so they are now $2 cheaper per set
The size of the containers is, as you say, fairly arbitrary. These were originally sized for Infinity figs, not 40k but ultimately the size was determined by the overall size of the flatpack... we wanted them to fit into a C5 envelope so that postage would only be $2 per units. Any bigger and we would have to put them in a C4 envelope and the postage would have gone up to $4
But we have some ideas coming to fill the table

We've looks into trains before for Infinity but those were more fast intercity trains for the Paradiso scenario. Your idea has more merit and is more versatile. Thanks... we'll look into it

Thanks for the rundown. The size thing makes sense.
On the train.. a semi-futuristic bullet train type of thing would definitely hold my interest.. Especially if it had a nice cheap rail system and some sort of checkpoint or station. It doesn't need to look like it's ready for Infinity but I would also prefer it not look like it's from a cowboy film. The train from Snowpiercer is an example of something sort of in-between.

The crane would be nice too.. there are already a few people making them though.. Fenris being one example. I mention it so if you do make one you can perhaps avoid doing the same thing and maybe offer a different product (variety = good!)
I don't think anyone has done the big rail style cranes .. like the kind that straddle docks. I might be mistaken though.. so don't take my word for it.
