I've finally stripped the lot of Rogue Trader beakies I got for Christmas. I'd like to paint them up as an early traitor legion to play in Horus Heresy and alongside my normal chaos troops. I usually play Slaanesh, but I've been branching out to other marks. I've been leaning towards Word Bearers, but I'm really in the mood to try something different.

So help me pick a traitor legion, tell me why you picked the one you did, and I'll finally get my P&M blog set up to show you all how it turned out.

Beakies always remind me of that picture of the Night Lords in the old codex, holding a bolt pistol to that poor unfortunate mortals head cowering in fear before the ritualistic execution of everyone left alive.

Night Lords, you could even paint the terror skulls on the beaks if you wanted to get in depth. You ask why I picked Night lords, umm mostly because of the ADB books and the color scheme, they just scream evil and they have a very unique back story with the whole chaos but not chaos thing.

I've always been a fan of the Pre-Heresy World Eaters scheme. It's not my absolute favorite pre-heresy scheme but I think for beakies it would look nice.

As it stand now there's a 3-way tie. While I put up a 30 day poll, I'll call it if we have 3 consecutive days without voting. In case of a tie I'll rig up a complex orky mechanism involving ping pong balls and open flame to break it.

I like what I am hearing about beaky Night Lords, but it looks like A-Legion will win it. Them beaky models.

The Rainbow Warriors are most likely not what you think they are. They were probably named after the Greenpeace ship that was blown up.

Alpha Legion all the way. Because they are sneaky-stealthy, get the job done and neither look like an animate compost heap nor like tentakula of featherswood, don't need an electroshock, 30 lashes and a drug IV just to wake up or foam at the mouth whenever something is left unwhacked with a power axe.

Nah, I know that's why the Sister of Battle wasting one has the fleurdelys; I love the old Rogue Trader book! I wasn't going for a sex joke there, it just kind of happened. (Honest!)
I just think the bright clashing colors would go well with my army, and I have a pet theory that they're one of the lost legions that fell before the heresy. Hence being hunted by the sisters, and having their records expunged despite officially being Ultramarine successors. (Which from the novels, getting rolled into the UM is exactly what happened to loyalists from the two missing chapters.
