What is your opinion on Eldar Wraithlords. Are they competitive? What are good ways to run them, and what are their uses?
I don't play Eldar nor have I really versed them a lot (like 3 games), I just was thinking of having a game or two with them for fun, and I think Wraithlords are really cool lol

As with almost all Eldar units, they are very viable. The Wraithknight is better but they are very decent indeed.

They are slower than a wraightknight, but mutliple units is a greater threat than a single one - 2 can shoot at 2 targets, are harder to focus down (youre likely to waste more firepower shooting at two units than one in order to kill both) and, being a feth ton smaller, are easier to hide.

I still love them

They've been overshadowed by newer monsters not just in their own army but the meta as a whole. They aren't as spammable as carnifexes nor as maneuverable as wing princes, however they are rock solid units and unlike most other MCs, they can't be given a death of a thousand cuts from most infantry weapons and only a third of all plasma hits actually hurt them (while Tau or Eldar plasma fares even worse). However, with only three wounds and no invulnerable save or 2+ armor, they are a touch more vulnerable to lascannons and the like, but cover is everywhere and the Eldar can get shrouded ridiculously easy. Overall they're great but humble units wih a tremendous deal of versatility and your standard wraith unit's legendary resistance to small arms fire.

nosferatu's given the pros, but there are cons as well.
The two biggest disadvantages I can see with them compared to a Wraithknight are that they have much less manoeuvrability and that killing one of 2 halves their damage output while doing the same number of wounds to a Wraithknight doesn't.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

I gave the pro of less manouverable, by saying "slower"

I think the fact you can halve the fire power is outweighed by the ineffciiences needed to kill 2 of them vs one larger unit

Not really. They compete with other, better units in the HS slot, like the standard Wraithknight, Fire Prism or Warwalkers.

True, but there's also the fact that they can't jump over and on top of terrain like Wraithknights can.

The efficiency of being able to take them out varies with your opponent's units and dice, the lack of manoeuvrability and loss of damage output with damage taken is constant.

Yet so is the ability to only target one unit, not two. One reason spam is effective is redundancy AND the ability to more precisely control volume of fire to avoid overkill.

Against anything but poison, a Wraithlord team is good.
They're back-field artillery, with their own cc defence.

As has been said, they're slower, taller, and have no invul.
But they're also taller (good LoS), resistant to most small-arms fire, and buffable (both types of seer)
