What did the lists of your opponents look like? Was it book missions or custom?

Book missions with primary, secondary and tertiary.

I'd be interesting in hearing how the second game went as he sunk a lot of points into models you love to see across from you but Serpents can be unpleasant for DE to deal with.

Vect really helps. I assume you went first vs eldar and killed a few serpents? I've been hearing about this type of list on these forumes and I guess it really has the ability to just hit death stars will 10000000 wounds lol. The more I hear about it the more I want to bring a bastion with comms relay to hide a fmc on the corner of a table so i dont get tabled turn one of a tourney >.>

You had a strong list, and I am sure it took some skill to pull off, but you did get some of the best matchups for DE. Dark eldar are very hard counters to certain lists, namely anything that spams toughness. While most armies struggle to touch wraith units, a venom will statistically put 1-2 wounds on a wraith construct/unit a turn. Then you factor in your squishes inside and all that poison dakka. Lances are also no friend to the craftworld fallen.

Against the scars, again poison negates T5 and DE don't give a single feth about grav weapons. DE can match the bike speed to prevent assaults, focusing down squads when needed.Lances are the ultimate hard counter to the land raider, with night shields reducing the range of terminators. This lets your lances/poison do their jobs from a safe distance.

But, I am telling you things you already know. Did you find your AT sufficient with 3 ravagers, 2 kabbie blasters and your raiders? Were you worried about a flyer spam or mech guard? Do you get any other use from vect besides the seize bonus?

I am strongly considering looking into running Vect over Baron in a DE/Eldar list using a Farseer+wraithknight+guardian blob squad.

Odd that he would put his wave serpents in reserve and not his wraithknights. If he had done that and deepstruck the Knights you would have been hard pressed.

He kept jetbikes in reserve. The serpents were on the table turn 1. He just played very defensively with the serpents by not popping the shields offensively.

Not popping the shields seems like a mistake. How many serpents did he have? You have 9 of your dark lances on 3 AV 11 vehicles. One serpent stands a pretty good chance of knocking out a ravager. each time it shoots.

Congrats on the win.

He ran 4 serpents. Vect seizing, taking away his jink was pretty huge turn 1. I was able to cripple most of his force before shots starting firing back. Thanks for the kudos though!

There was nothing that compelling in that ED post. It looked more like a seal club finding any excuse possible to keep a shark away honestly.

It's one thing to play hard, It's a complete other to play hard and be a dick about it. If you want to play casuals with hard lists you'd better be damn good at making them laugh.

^^^So much this! It takes a lot of work to table someone on turn 3 and keep them laughing and smiling the whole time! But its also rewarding coming out of a 5 round event where you tabled 3 of your opponents and still got max or near max sportsmanship score. At the end of the day I want to win, but I also want everyone to have a good time.
