Response from GW regarding the missing FAQ:
"Thanks for writing in to us! We are aware that the new web store launched without the Errata/ FAQ articles. This is only temporary and these FAQ's will be made available again in the very near future. However, at this time I don’t have a time or date available. Should you have any other questions, then please give us a call at 1-800-394-4263.

Well, at least their messages are the same!
sooo... pointless topic is over?
you automatically lose points for using the trite gamer-isms: balanced, meta, Mat Ward, etc.
I was intending to take advantage of your new promotion offering a free space marine captain with orders over $120. However I couldn't locate the FAQ section. I'm concerned, I had intended to purchase a new codex and a few other kits however I don't want to purchase anything if it's not supported in some way. Will the FAQ's be added before the end of the promotion (may 4th)?
On a side note, not having those faq's is terrible customer service, I cannot locate FAQ's for purchases I've already made, that's terrible and not fair to me, the customer, in anyway.
We would like to be able to help you as much as possible! Can you give us a call at 1-800-394-4263? If you can do that, then we can work to get you taken care of.
Hope to hear from you soon!

In short, GW wants me taken care of.... any bets on how "helpful" my phone call will be?

sigh...viewfinder, I don't know a polite way to say this but please stop coming in these threads and complaining. Red Satan already came in and said it was fine to discuss this, you are not a moderator, you don't need to declare the end of "pointless" threads
As I said before...

But still, it is disconcerting they didn't simply add them in the first place, plus the site has lost all manner of gaming-related materials.
EDIT @ Crablezworth: I'm guessing they have a long list of copy-and-paste responses to emails. A sort of "triage" of importance

Actually, viewfinder is right. This thread is now pointless seeing as we have multiple emails from GW customer service saying FAQs are coming back. TBH, the community knee jerked this "OMG GW NOT DOING FAQS ANYMORE" reaction.
CthuluIsSpy wrote: They also said that Sisters are coming back. It's been how many years?
Sisters got a codex last year. Promise fulfilled.
Hardly. They did get a new codex, which is good, but a codex is useless without models, and the Sisters' models are absurdly expensive and still in metal.
For what you pay for a squad of sisters, you can get nearly two sets of tactical marines, and it comes with more options.

That or they believe it'd be easier and faster to talk to you instead of a chain of emails.

Do we think thats it - GW just wont bother any more?
If so is there anything that can be done to deal with the ongoing issues in the game that should be adressed by the FAQs? It does not seem an easy thing as interpretation varies on many subjects and causes quite explosive arguments......
New website or not, GW has not released a FAQ since September, and if I remember right the one they released then was just a slight rules adjustment (something about a servo arm if my memory serves).
We have been discussing this specifically. The issue with no FAQ on the updated site is a new event in this situation. Of course GW may be bringing the FAQs back shortly, that is entirely possible, and then the concerns over the new website were unnecessary. But still, there has not been a new FAQ for some considerable time now.

This thread is an extension of what we've experienced now for a long time. There are many topics that need corrected and have existed for months to over a year; items not caught in the last major April 2013 update.
What sort of image do you portray when you're a site with the largest wargame on the market, but you fail to host anything about the game itself? I know each person is unique, but I didn't start this hobby just to paint miniatures. If I had, I'd be neck deep in Reaper and many others. I started because I wanted to build, paint, and pew pew. If the company isn't even going to phone-in support for the pew pew portion, then it's something many of us would like to know.
The concept of "Yes, they will be back. Estimated time of return is to be determined. Stay tuned." is bad business. When I'm debating on buying a $50 rulebook tomorrow to continue playing a portion of my armies, I want to know it's going to be supported for the lifetime of the product. So I won't be buying said rulebook.
Most of the opposing folks are correct. Normally this would be a small slip up and no worries. However, given the track record of GW over the past year, there's more of a pause for concern. A much major pause for concern.
Again, company based on three pillars is actively not hosting anything about one of those pillars outside of "please buy!". That's bad.

Why have the option for e-mail?
Some problems are easier to correct than others and can be solved through an email. Your displeasure aimed at them and saying you were a dissatisfied customer might have been the red flag that basically has them try and salvage you as a customer.
Customer service has no control the website, all they can really do is try and smooth things over with you as best they can. Don't hate the people on the bottom of the ladder for stuff they have no control over, it's really not fair to them.

Don't put word in my mouth, boy. I don't hate employees at a call center.

I apologize, but your posts read much more like a fairly upset person who is leveling his anger at someone who shouldn't really be held responsible for you being upset. And don't call people "boy" it's disrespectful.
Oh, and GW's Customer Services is in house in Tennessee, not some call center not connected to the company.

Udo wrote: So if the errata and FAQ are not available does that mean we can't play by them?
No, it just means GW re-did thier website and hasn't posted them back up yet.
So how do you or your opponent verify the errated rule in the middle of a game. An unscrupulous opponent could make a claim about their army's errata and if I'm not all over army x's errata I'm none the wiser.
Maybe I'm looking at the glass a bit half empty............
