Should there be a Titan codex?
Yes! Titans would add a new balance
Yes. I can't wait to field three Emperor Titans in a regular game
As a Xenos player, I love this Idea
Only if they reduce the points and increase the cost for the models

They should make a codex with all the titans and the variants and reduce the points to make it viable for regular 40k games and tournaments. What do you think?

I think you mean "stupid or trolling" because what you're saying is "is he being facetious or is he being facetious?"

They did make a Codex Titanicus. Thankfully it remains where it belongs, in a 6mm scale game.

Seems most people would want to field Titans if given the chance.

I didn't vote because I don't want a titan codex and nor am I a xenos player.

And...how the gak is a titan codex supposed to bring balance to anything? That makes no sense.

I'd vote, if the poll was actually balanced and included an option for those wanting to say no I would. Even though I'd be in support of this with proper balancing.

I did this poll as a bit of a troll post but with some commentary regarding how serious people take things and how sometimes there's no 'choice' when it comes to how you play things. While I don't believe that there should be a Titan's only codex, I do believe that every codex should have access to Apocalypse only models within them. These models should be just make sense. I think when making these models and rules GW should follow the following process:

Can this unit be overwhelmed by sheer numbers alone or is it so powerful that only another unit of the same time can take it down?
Does this unit make sense in terms of fluff?
Are the rules fair and easy to understand?
Can our customer base afford it?

It's tough but I think it'd doable. Maybe if we had a public forum with the game designers and open discussions as to why certain units are the way they were. Some transparency even regarding the rules and fluff changes would be welcomed.

On a different note, I'd also love to see a Mechanicus/Dark Mechanicus codex. I.I have a serious question for you guys. Say that FW Titans price went down to the cost of a Baneblade would you field those units and have a battle much the same way as Titanicus? (For anyone that didn't read that novel - Pacific Rim but 40k themed).

They already did, only it's in 28mm scale now.

There have been very few standard sized infantry units released since 6th edition launched - a few individual characters and the obligatory space marines aside - and if that trend continues I imagine 7th edition will be Epic 28mm in all but name.

40K has never been close to realistic in terms of scale - most obviously in weapon ranges - but if it can become the norm for aircraft to be deployed on a battlefield that (in real terms) is the size of a couple of city blocks then I don't imagine they'll stop there. Satirical as this poll may be I wouldn't be at all surprised to see GW put actual titans on the tabletop sooner rather than later.

I think it is perfectly obvious that vehicles as large as the table are not a practical thing.

Nor will GW produce the kits -- how many Mantas do they sell? -- so there is no incentive for them to publish the book.

However if you want to play with Titans and can scratch build one, it's easy to put them in the game as a house rule.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

There's no option for "titans aren't even miniatures, what are they doing in 40k and why do they exist when they have the ruleset for another game".

And in my hypocrisy I still want to build a CSM titan eventually.

It's been a thing since 4e's Apocalypse actually.

Only apocalypse made it clear that it was just for fun rather than base 40k's mocking attempts at balance.

And in Apocalypse games were typically decided by the last few squads of guys too unimportant to shoot at with all the firepower going around after all the big guns were destroyed, rather than the big guns themselves.

Also no FoC and everyone is effectively battle brothers with everyone as long as you can handwave it to everyone else's satisfaction.

tl;dr: Just outright playing apocalypse is much more fun for all involved than escalation.

How about "We allready have that, we call it >Codex: Imperial Knights<".

What annoys me about the Knight codex is that there were actually six varieties of knights but GW only saw it fit to bring two over from epic.
1d4chan wrote: Other varieties, yet to be seen in 40k, are the Knight Lancer - similar to the Paladin, but faster and with more choppy, the Knight Crusader with Lascannons and a titan grade Quake Cannon, the Knight Castellan with Autocannons and a Quake Cannon and the command Baron class Knight with an even faster firing battlecannon, improved armour and the speed and choppiness of the Lancer.

There was also the goofy looking warden.

A codex with only seven units is still pathetically puny but it's at least enough for at least one kind of knight per slot and would add vastly more variety to a two note codex.

(Baron in HQ, Errants in troops, lancer in FA, Wardens and Crusaders in HS, and Paladins and Castellans in elites)

No, no we shouldn't.

The Revenant Titan is already under costed. It does not need to be even more so.

Also, why isn't there a "hell no" option in the poll? Bad poll is bad.

See, why can't FW make something like this? If some bloke can scratch build one like that, how can it be so hard for a company to produce one?
