In a good, terrifying sort of way. I think the Talos bits really help sell it as a dark eldar critter so you're good to go

I'm tempted to replicate the look of one of the Wracks from the plastic kit and give him a 2nd vestigial head lol- like a Wrack who's submitted himself to LOTS of attention from his master lol.

I don't think I've shown you all the scheme I'm going with for Dark Eldar but here you go. I have used browns but I think maybe a metallic paint might be better. What do we think?

Looks neat. Maybe edge the brown in gold/brass rather than going fully metallic? This would give you more scope to bling up the higher ranks.

I go away for a few weeks and you go Dark Eldar mad! The plastics are some of my favourite kits, just so many great miniatures in the range.

I quite like the DE colour scheme you have chosen, the brown seems left-field enough to work. DE wise what have you got constructed/painted thus far?

Heresy Minis Hurn counts as Sslyth(OOP in light of the upcoming AvP game)- I do have an actual Sslyth but don't appear to have snapped a pic yet.

Medusae

A couple of Heresy Minis counts as Ur Ghuls- going to repaint them though I think- don't have pics of them yet so this'll have to do!

A couple of counts as Khymerae for my Beastmaster's pack plus a few counts as Clawed Fiends (all from Heresy Minis) which I shall upload later. but for now here's the pic from Heresy plus my own painted doggy

Then there's all the stuff I've put up recently.

Still need to do my core army though which I am grinding my way through but I seem to be addicted to painting specific character models recently.

Whilst I was painting up my Kabalites, I had a go at a Mandrake today. Also, after watching Spider-Man 1 (Sam Raimi's) I found myself a little inspired and went for some Green Goblin-esque style Hellions. After some snipping and gluing of Hellion heads and swapping them out for Dark Elf Sisters of Slaughter heads. Looks awesome IMO.

I was gonna use some reaper bats for razorwing flocks, but I've got a boatload of old dark eldar models and always get conflicted about using them or replacing with new, to the point where I spin my wheels for a few days and drop the matter entirely

Goblin-hellion looks good, but you HAVE to give at least one a pumpkin bomb! Do DE have grenade arms?

Yeah the Scourge kit has them. In fact that's the only DE kit that has grenade wielding arms! What's amusing is that the Helliarch can upgrade his board to have Phantasm Grenade Launchers. They fire small disc shaped grenades made from a reactive substance that upon contact with the air, dissolves into clouds of PSYCHOTROPIC GAS. Sounds like classic Green Goblin!

Expanding the Coven some more with another Grotesque, this time made from one of the rank and file Ogre Kingdoms infantry. Not sure where to go with the belly hole though- they usually have one of those giant belt buckle things on. Suggestions welcome.

So I've pre-ordered the Haemonculus Covens book- from GW's blog today there looks to be a good amount of background for this supplement. Can't wait to unleash my monstrosities on the battlefield. Already have a good number of flesh constructs (Talos and Cronos mostly) as well as a growing number of Haemonculi and Wracks! I had forgotten to mention I'd painted up a couple of Talos (one's still a WIP) Pics to follow...
In the mean time, I found these on the GW blog today...

I hate those big holes in the ogre kingdom models. You could use their torsos for all sorts of sweet conversions if it wasn't for that damn massive hole.

I would just make some sort of belly armor for it with a shield, or something big enough to go over it. You could also have some weapon coming out of it, and make it look like it was surgically inserted there. That may be more of the DE style.

And now for a teeny bit of the Kabal. Went for a more metallic brown shade on the pauldrons- Screaming Bell with Agrax Earthshade wash to tone the shiny-ness down.

Bit of a change in scenery- the first transport is on the way... Coming along nicely.. The black panel on the prow- what to do with it? Paint it blue same as the rest of the vehicle or give it some sort of squad marking?

Just a quick post- here is what I intend to use as a Succubus for my HQ if I'm in need of some good old fashioned melee ass-kicking. I got my mitts on the Death Hag from the recent Cauldron of Blood release. Snipped the chalice hand off at the elbow and swapped it for a venom blade. Wounding on a 2+ (IIRC?) she should be well equipped to tackle most opponents.

Looks about right, though perhaps better suited to the old school wyches than the new ones, however I'm sure they'll get along just fine

Not really. She doesn't have the porn star looks- collagen lips and big bust etc

Well yeah not that, I just meant thematic style, she's got similar armor and hair. The new wyches look almost more like a street gang in biker leathers. Both are cool, she just seemed to jive with the older aesthetic, if not sculpting practices.

Ah right- gotcha. Well the new Dark Eldar Succubus that came out has a nice action pose but I'm not really digging the top knot thing or the head in general for that matter.
