Hello people of P&M. I was wondering if one could take the CSM squad box and, with liberal use of a knife and file, turn them back into loyal space marines. Would I need to buy some new helmets?

The reason I ask is because I want some "Heresy" Mk. 5 armor en masse for my HH army since I want to represent a "Mid-war" legion.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I could buy those, sure, but... I sort of want to do it for the sake of doing it as a modeling project.

It'd be a lot of work to de-Chaosify CSM models. There's a lot of spikes and sculpted detail you'd need to carve, sand, and dremel off. I'd honestly just go for the Forgeworld models, since there also aren't that many Mk. V bits in the CSM kit.

Those models are the twice the price of the CSM kit at the least.

converting CSMs to loyalists would be more work than it is worth. of course, if it's all you have and time is plentiful, have at it!

you automatically lose points for using the trite gamer-isms: balanced, meta, Mat Ward, etc.
