Hi folks, wondered if anyone could answer a quick question.
Does the landraider redeemer/crusader kit come with the normal landraider lascannon and heavy bolter parts as well?
Have they just added the crusader and redeemer bits to the existing kit? Or did they swap the normal weapons sprues out?
Also, whatever the case is, was this always the case? Even back when it was the metal crusader bits?
Thanks

No. You only get the assault cannon turret and hurricane bolter/flamestorm cannon sponsons.

See above.

I believe at one time you had to purchase the metal hurricane bolter sponsons separately. Someone with a little more history might be able to confirm or correct that.
Thanks
You're welcome!

I got an older Redeemer off of Craig's list. I had to buy the flamestorm sponsons and heavy bolter to get all the options. I think the lascannons came in the older box.

If you want all three of the plastic variants get the phobos and pick up the crusader sprue.

he probably meant to say to buy the regular Land Raider (aka Godhammer to those who want to feel important through jargon) and the crusader sprue.

Thanks for all the responses folks. I should have been clearer. The reason I was asking was that I was looking at quite a cheap crusader kit, but it's a regular godhammer (or Phobos?)/lascannon raider that I need. So I was just wondering if the crusader kit would build a lascannon land raider.
Thanks again for the input.

The current land raider kit only comes with the parts to build the Godhammer. If you want to be able to build the crusader or the redeemer then you need to buy the crusader/redeemer kit. That kit comes with the hurricane bolters, the multi melta, the flamestorm cannons, and the twin linked assault cannons.
The Godhammer kit only comes with the twin linked lascanons and the twin linked heavy bolters afaik.

I suppose you could grab the sponson parts you need for the phobos from ebay or something. Honestly if the price is right for the land raider hull I'd go for it.

since a Phobos Land Raider is a specific/expensive Forgeworld piece, let's just forget that option...
Just buy a regular Land Raider. the Crusader/Redeemer parts are available separately.

Phobos is the formal name of the regular tl- lc Land Raider variant dude.

the Phobos is the old box-sided Land Raider. the Godhammer is the current model available.

Godhammer is the name of the type of lascannon they have in the sponson and as a result became the nickname for the model with them. Land Raider Phobos is the current plastic kit, although, yes, there is a MkII variant put out by Forge World. IIRC the plastic is the MKIV(?). The old RT Land Raider model was the Hellfire.

In all fairness, you were giving the OP incorrect information and using incorrect jargon while trying to correct someone while trying to prove you know more. alanmckenzie wrote:Thanks for all the responses folks. If you just need a standard Land Raider Phobos, it may or may not be worth it to buy the Crusader you are looking at. I did some looking around on eBay and I found that the complete heavy bolter turret is going for around $12-$15 US and the lascannons sponsons were $28 US, so you're looking at an extra $45 US on top of whatever the price is for the Crusader. It might be easier just to buy a regular Land Raider kit outright and not have to worry about tracking down all the right bits.

GW makes 3 LR types and 2 are sold together with the 3rd being its own box. Unless modifyed, you can only build 1 out of the box. I do not know what mk type each is or their names.
1 and 2 are assault types with either hurricane bolters/assault cannons OR flamestorm/assault cannons.
3 is an anti tank type with las cannons/heavy bolters.
You can buy a sprue from GW with all 3 weapon packages on it.
I cannot say what FW makes.

At one time, the Crusader was a Phobos pattern (lascannons) with EXTRA METAL bits to make the Crusader from it. METAL hurricane bolters, 2 METAL cast assault cannons with ammo belts attached like the heavy bolters, 6 paired bolters, 6 ammo feeds, 2 ammo boxes, 2 gun shields and 2 metal posts to put the guns on that replaced the plastic mounting post for the lascannons, and a pintle mounted multimelta and gun shield). The ammo feed belts were fiddly, the post was often bent. It was a ***** and a half to put together, requiring 5 sets of hands AND clamps. And a file, and putty. I got mine together pretty well, but I used epoxy adhesive (araldite) rather than superglue and did it in sections, clamping each bit as I went. Took me about a month per sponson.) Now, there are two boxes. Land raider phobos with lascannons. Land raider Crusader/Redeemer with plastic hurricane bolters and assault cannons (weapons sprue is different from the standard land raider one) and the flamestorm cannons and fuel tanks for the redeemer.
