Can someone explain the last scene in Winter Soldier? Who are those twins people? What's expected in the next movie?

They are Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. In the comics they are the mutant children of Magneto. I'm also going to guess that Scarlet Witch will essentially be a telekinetic character as her comic book "I reshape reality" is to broad and bit silly. Other then them being in it with Ultron as the baddie, I have no idea.

The twins are Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

As someone who is not a fan of Marvel comics and has only seen the films, I couldn't tell you anything beyond that they're apparently important in the next Avengers movie.

And Quicksilver is in the upcoming Xmen movie as well. Different actor though.

Although it will be a different version of Quicksilver, the 'Fox' version (as opposed to the 'Disney' version)

Basically two different versions of the one character...

Should be interesting to see who plays him better.

I'm betting Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers 2).

Both of them are, I believe.

I hotlinked those so if they turn into pictures of dickbutt, PM me and I'll upload them to picasa.

PS, Ms. Olsen's costume has such a 90's vibe is makes me homesick for 20 years ago :(

Good camera angle though.

I wasn't aware she'd be in Xmen as well, that should be cool. And this scene looks like it has promise

If only the shirt he was wearing had the wall album cover instead...he'd be running on the wall while wearing the wall.

No complaints from me, certainly.

Another set picture with the costume. I haven't read an Avengers since she was married to the green-and-red Vision so no idea how well this tracks to... however she looks now.

Considering how ridiculous her outfits tend to be in the comics, this isn't a particularly bad change.

That'd make it on screen nowadays without rage from certain segments of the public. It totally would.

Seems he's an old friend of Wolverine's in the new X men film.

Word has it that he might not actually be in the film too much actually ..?

Bit torn over the Avengers version.

Seems to look a bit better and I kind of like the idea of them being the product of super nazi science experiments ( with them being twins and all only seems appropriate) rather than the somewhat soap opera like children of Magneto origin.

One couldn't help but note it was cubes that the Sarclet Witch was manipulating. ... Cosmic eh ?

Frankly I was more chuffed at the formal mention of Stephen Strange existing in the Marvel Cineverse.

I love how they trew out his name in the middle of a list of characters who have already been in the movies, and none of the heroes said, "Who?" when Steve Stange came up.

Quicksilver in Days of Future Past is in his late teens or early twenties by the look of him. The actor is around 26. I'm not sure about being an old friend of Wolverine, he might be aware of him because I'd imagine a teenager with those kinds of powers would get into a metric gak heap of trouble.

Spoiler:

I think he's an old friend of his in the future or somesuch .

I seem to recall in the latest/one of the trailers that's how he describes him.

I think.

Bear in mind that Wolverine in his past might well have known him anyway, Logan having been around somewhat.

Well wasn't he a somewhat famous surgeon before the accident that drove him to look for magic to heal himself?

Possibly, but how famous is any 'famous' surgeon outside of the medical profession? How many surgeons can you name, that you haven't had to contract for their skills?

Dr. Oz
Dr. Ruth
Dr. Phil (lol)
Sanjay Gupta
Ron Paul
Rand Paul

Just because it isn't a long list doesn't mean there aren't well known doctors. Let us also not forget this is reality and the idea of a famous surgeon isn't exactly so fantastic to be untenable. And yes, I wanted to list Tom Baker, Matt Smitt, et al but refrained.

Ok, well that certainly shut my mouth. Mostly, the mention of Dr Ruth did (she used to kill Nazis, no joke). I'm not really sure Phil qualifies as a doctor and honestly the Pauls are known more for politics than medicine (are they medical doctors? I thought they had degrees in political sciences or economics or something). But at any rate, mention of Dr. Ruth sufficiently refutes my claim.

And if you had mentioned Baker, Smith, and the rest I would've accepted them as just as legitimaty as Dr. Ruth. Because: Time Lord.

I liked Evan Peters a lot in American Horror Story, glad to see he's being given a chance at a different kind of role. Hopefully he does an excellent job and we can see more from him in the future.

It might just be a rumour, but from what I've heard, QS and SW are in the Cap2 'stinger' in part because Marvel wanted to 'beat' Fox to the punch showing off their versions of the characters first.

It built some solid hype for Avengers 2 personally, and I'll admit to likely seeing DoFP all the same.

But I do hope that one day Disney/Marvel just drop off a money laden dumptruck at Fox studios and reclaim their properties.

It'd be so awesome to have the X-Men showing up in Avengers 3 or 4, for example.

I don't think the franchises could be crossed over at this point. They'd all require a reboot to make sense of it all.

Yeah, Fox already broke X-men. That said getting Spider-man back from Sony after this reboot is done might not be a bad idea. It's doing a great job. Granted with New York having a great muthering war going on in it mgiht have made that impossible too.

Eh, I'm sure some gifted writer could make it fit.

If all else fails; different dimensions, portal draws 'em in, mutation flourishes in the world as a result, this kinda stuff happens in the comics all the time.

But mostly I'd be happy if Marvel got them back in general.

I believe that Sony actually offered to allow Disney to use the Oscorp tower in the Avengers skyline, but they were too close to finished to put it in. It does hint at possible cross-compatibility at some point though with Spidey and the Avengers.

An Avengers/X-men crossover would also be awesome, as I'm actually a big fan of the recent X-men offerings, and also of all the Marvel/Disney ones bar IM3.

I'd be much happier if they kept super powers a bit rare. It is bad enough having to hear "why didn't the Avengers show up" with all the separate movies, and comic book levels of proliferation would alienate the audience I think, which while having a good number of comic fans, also have a lot of non-comic fans.

 Forar wrote:

I don't view that as a positive.
