A greater daemon of Slaanesh for obvious reasons.

In order of preference

1. Vect
2. Greater Daemon of Slaanesh
3. Imperial Knight pilot, they seem to be royalty.

Slaaneshi Daemon Prince, or some mortal CSM lucky enough for Slaanesh to grant you a place in its court. Probably the only pleasant fate in W40K, considering Slaanesh warps your mind until all you feel is pleasure, which makes the galaxy somewhat livable. Being a member of an Eldar Craftworld wouldn't be too bad, but there's still the danger of Slaanesh grabbing your soul in the future, going insane in the Infinity Circuit, or becoming an Exarch.

Dark Eldar, preferably an incubi (secure lifestyle and no one has any reason to kill you) or a Scourge (rich, get to fly around on actual wings, killing you is seen as a grave offence). I get to sit around protecting some guy or training or I get to fly around delivering messages, going on the occasional raid with the best equipment available short of Archons and Incubi. Either way I may live in constant fear of Slaanesh, but the chances of my life being cut short are pretty low all things considered.

This is easy: I'd be an Inquisitor.

Get paid to see the stars while doing whatever you want, whenever you want.

Tau Shas'O with iridium armour, force field and something with a disgustingly high rate of fire, expanding the third sphere one Tyranid at a time.

Or Eldar Ulthwe Farseer. Arrogant, but kinda justified seeing as I know what's gonna happen! lol

I'll stick to my old standby:

Warboss Bigfoot. A exbawks hueg Ork, who enjoys krumping things, being immortal, being da boss, and short walks to the nearest squig-ale brewer.

I'd also like some plot importance, so whenever I am mortally wounded, GW gives me some spare plot armour.

Being an Incubi doesn't save you. Everyone wants to kill you still if you're on the ladder, or the person you're protecting might whack you for simply knowing too much.

A rogue trader. See the galaxy, have adventures, get rich, and have special rights to ignore about 90% of the Imperium's oppressive laws. Maybe meet a hot space babe along the way. And unlike with a worshiper of Slaanesh, I don't have to worry about getting zapped down to a Chaos Spawn by my fickle god or tormented eternally for failing at some mission, which is what actually happens 99.9999999999999999% of the time.

Space Marine Captain or Vanguard veteran. Preferably in one of the fightier chapters.

Dark Eldar Incubi!

A shotgun toting, doorkicking, grav-chuting, meltabombing, Stormtrooper with a drop regiment on some toxic wasteland.

Also, I just remembered, being a Legionnaire of the Legion of the Damned would be interesting if you were down for the whole "completely posthuman" thing with you not even having an organic body anymore. Or if you can even feel emotion.

But hey, you can't die! You're already dead!

Guess for me it'd be cypher. The way I see his fluff he's a bad ass but is he a good guy or bad guy or what? Anyways I like the ambiguity of the character. Better yet a rouge trader cause there rich and must get lots of women. That's it, Cap'n Kirk with cyclone torpedos!

I'd be a Gretchin Dodger, basically a very "efficient" Grot Merchant. Running around the Grot Bazaars, scavenging junk and conning Orks out of their hard earned teeth has got to be fun. And, as the epithet Dodger suggests, not without action.

I'd also be partial to being a Madboy. I'd probably be a Frantik or a Paranoid. It's funny, it's one of the few situations where a fictional character in a grimdark setting that has a mental disability and is more likely to be treated with respect than real life. Orks are that awesome.

Failing those two, a Rebel Grot Guerrilla. I do genuinely think Gretchin are the coolest things in 40k. Yeah, I know. I need to get out more.

You're a daemon prince. I'd imagine shape shifting is completely possible given you're now purely made of the warp.

Pilot of an Emperor-Class Titan or Captain of an Imperial Battleship, both of which make you damn indestructible and pretty awesome.

Shas'El in the Farsight Enclaves, simply to feth with GW. Retcon you say? Not anymore! Plus, punching things is still cool with us.

I mean, there's load of cool stuff in 40K, but would you realistically want to be most of them?

I'd spend most of my time taking peaceful walks through the exterminatus'd countryside or tending to my cabbage farm, but when the Imperium eventually comes a-knockin', I'll be ready with my array of 20 twinlinked autoguns lining the top of my humble abode.

I concur, I'd want to be a VSGT of a Elysian drop team squad. My Warhammer 40k Idol is Sergeant Major Merrick ( I know its based of the DoW and not table top, but its still canon) mostly for mouthing off to the =][= and beating the feth out of his CO for "wasting" his trooper's lives.

I'd like to be some human auxiliary farmer on a Tau-owned Agri World, somewhere deep in the Tau Empire. Quiet life, not so much the religious zealotry, get to hang out with some aliens that aren't so terrible.

Nice, quiet, pastoral life on the farm, nothing to really worry about beyond the regular concerns of day-to-day life, then eventually grow old, retire and die.

For me it would be a toss up between an Inquisitor or a regimental commisar
