Hey guys, im testing out a few new lists that require more tought and planning instead of shooty shooty bullets in the air hope my guys last a while lists. All feedback is welcome Oh and im using the new Codex

Platoon command squad - 30
-Commissar - 25

Lemen Russ - 150
-Las Cannon -10

Infantry Squad 1 - 50
-Auto Cannon - 10

Infantry squad 2 - 50
-Heavey Bolter - 10

Special Weapons squad (In Chimera) - 30
-3x melta gun - 30
-Chimera - 65
-Multi Laser
-Heavy Bolter

Enginseer - 40 ( In Chimera)


Possably putting the Chimera in reserve and have him come in to flank the opponints armour. The Enginseer rides with the SWS to heal lost hull points. The troops will stay back with the Russ while i have a squad in the Chimera for scoring points.

Well for starters it's not a legal list. An infantry platoon is a single troop choice. So you'll need two of those and an HQ. Once you have changed the list to that I'll give more feed back.

Leman Russ Lascannon is (was) 15 points.

Six guardsmen in a Chimera with a Techpriest won't make it to the end of the game. Especially if they're also on Vehicle hunting duty. You're also relying on one warlord trait to outflank it. Dodgy, at best...

Consider Imperial Guard at 500.

HQ: Company Command - 50

Leman Russ Vanquisher - 155

For 500 points dead on. I can LC/AC the Chimera, and go after the Russ with my Vanq. I have more bodies, but enough to keep in cover and significantly out of LOS. If the Chimera turns up late, the LCs can go after the Russ instead.

Or the alternate method:

PCS with Chenkov - 80
PIS - 50
PIS - 50

Conscripts, SITNW - 155

Veteran Squad - 70

For 505 points. I have 70 bodies on the board, 20 of which regenerate. I simply ignore your tanks, make the best use of cover, and just laugh because I know damn well that you won't kill all of my guys. But that's a gimmick list, so I wouldn't worry about it turning up.

Chenkov doesn't exist, but as for your list cheapest FoC will cost you 180 and that's bare bones for two vets and a ccs, depending on what you want to do or how you play, there is a lot you can do with am

Besides, I was doing it to show that I could do it with an older codex.

Move with the times man. This sis not the place for old codices. At 500 I definitely recommend a wyvern. Those things are the balls.

Oh I'd love to, don't get me wrong. The fact of the matter is that his list can be taken apart fairly easily with an older 'dex. That's the point I'm making here.

I don't think this list would have many problems as long as I played smart. Kept out of LOS of the big stuff, use the Crisis leader to tank AP shots, yada yada.

My advice the the OP is to leave the Russ at home. You need a second troops choice, so I'd replicate what you've already done, probably drop the Techpriest as well if you need more points.
