Subject: [Awaken Realms] Imperial Knights march [Update: New Knights and giveaway!]
This is a little Imperial Knight project we were working on, 7 Imperial Knights taking part in the endless crusade.
We wanted to name the Knights so that their painting schemes would reflect certain attribute, so here we are:
Redemption He, who seek forgives in the ocean of blood left by the enemies of the Golden Throne.
Absolution He, who is free of all sins and walk the only righteous way
Retribution He, who brings fair punishment upon the enemies of the Golden Throne and justly purge all sins.
Endurance He, who is immune to damages and carry on the holy fight until the very end.
Fury He, who is pure manifestation of holy anger and violently crush heresy without mercy.
Vengeance He, who never forgets and brings brutal revenge to all that dared to challenge the Golden Throne.
Vigilance He, who stays watchful at all times and meets the danger prepared.
There all awesome, but favorate is vigilance or retrabution

Fury. Althought they are all pretty close. I like Fury's red scheme the most.

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!
FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

The highlights that you have are so over the top they just don't look appealing or right.
If I had to choose though it would probably be fury as it is the least abrasive highlights. Endurance would be my second choice.

No way. They are awesome! The highlights are what make them awesome.. the glow... it's all so excellent.
Are you one of those "airbrushing is cheating" people? It's a skill, as is the paintbrush.
No I am not. I think an airbrush is a tool. But like anything can be over done. Go out and look at a car they look nothing like what was painted here. I am sorry they are just over done and don't look real at all. They should be gradually highlighted. not spot highlighted like OSL.

It's a personal preference, of course. I like the style, but it's cool if other folks don't.

Yeah, the airbrush is nice, but I don't think the highlights are done right (nor can they be with just an airbrush). I'd suggest they get touched up by hand, especially the large armor plates.

I'm not sure I would go so far as "abrasive" but a couple of them do have a "standing under a disco ball" feel. Very cool from a technical standpoint, but not my cup of tea aesthetically.

Maybe abrasive is a bit much, but The disco ball analogy is perfect.
I think it's a very subjective thing, like a good deal of our feelings on art can be. I don't think it looks photo realistic, but then again I'm not certain that's what the artist was going for.

When it comes to high contrast and OSL - yes, that is true. It is intentional thou. We are trying different things and different style and in the end we decide what looks best.
I mean, sure, does it look like this in real life? Hell no. But on the other hand - this is Imperial Knight, beast made of steel to defend mankind in the 41 millennium, where there is only war, does this sound like real life?
Sometimes we just leave the logic behind and paint so it will just look great. But yeah, I will agree that this is just subjective things.
We are also doing some different styles of painting, depending on the commissions so I will be sure to post it up!
By the way, tonight we will have something really special, so be sure to check it out later! ; )
