So, I want a cheap pocket watch (For no reason other than I have 5 dollars and Pocket watches just kinda look bad ass) but cant decide between these two:

Neither wristwatches are much cooler.

I like 13 somewhat more.

I like 14 and 11. But out of those two... 13. At that price though, don't expect much of it and probably have the batteries checked for any corrosion.

Pocket watches aren't cool. Neither are Fedoras or Trilbies for that matter, just in case that might be an issue as well.

Well to answer with my opinion, is say 12 more than 13? Though to be honest I'm not a fan of pocket watches with designs on them unless it's really classy. I prefer a simple plain cover

Of the options available, I'd go with #13

Or just go to Wal-Mart and get a $12 one. Point is, I'm trying to steer the OP from a $5 watch from Hong Kong that may or may not work when it gets to him. At least Wal-Mart will give him a refund/exchange without hassle.

Honestly, if it were me getting the pocket watch, I'd go with #8 as it's just a bit more classically styled. But, of the two, I'd go with the second, as it's a little less busy.

Mind you, I have a tenchcoat and a pocketwatch. The pocketwatch is an heirloom. The trenchcoat is a joke.

I'm going to say that if you HAVE to go with one of those, go with #12. Just don't expect a $5 watch to be good for anything beyond a conversation piece. You're not going to keep accurate time on that for probably more than 12-24 hours.

@OP: I'd to be honest look to invest a little more, a pocketwatch is a neat thing to have but you're going to want one that works as a watch rather than a gimmick and while it may not feature a design like those, a more expensive one will at least work more reliably and probably be a fair bit larger (and therefore more practical).

Thanks! I'll probably go with the Aquila watch. As for the other conversations on this thread, Trillabys are just really stupid looking, Fedoras it really depends on the person (And the outfit. Dressed as a 70 gangster? It fits. Going to the mall? No), Trenchcoats really really depend (On the length, the person, a million things. You either look like a weathered badass or a dumbass.). As for pocket watches, as you can probably tell, just kinda look cool. I dont plan to use it to tell time, and probably will never wear it out of the house. Its just a little decorative thing.

That being said, this is suspiciously cheap for a pocket watch. As a fan of the watch as a fashion accessory (and because I can't wear wristwatches) I'd say go with one of higher quality.

I'd not be surprised if the catches fail in short order
These are the watches that you find in cheap accessory stores, the quality is awful.
then again, for the price, you can easily bin and replace.

It' the soft detail and the fake 'antique bronze' finish that does it for me. Makes them look like those rings and necklaces you get out of vending machines or discount stores.
