FMC can shoot with 2 weapons, so if they vector strike, they are down to one shot .
Is that shot have 360 LOS even if it is a template?
Im thinking of Tyranids but deamons would apply the same rules as well.
If they vector striked and used a witchfire psychic power then they would be done shooting correct?
Im just trying to figure out fhe rationale behind the flyrant, why take two devourers instead of 1 or why not take a thorax template and bank on getting a witchfire and vecfor strike off

You're correct on all your assumptions.
You take 2 devourers because 6 TL shots at BS4 is better than d3+1 hits, especially because of the range. It's never better to "bank on" getting a witchfire (especially since you might not have one) and vector strike off.

Only vehicles have arcs of fire, everyone else can fire 360 degrees.
So if they vector strike, then they can only fire one weapon, witchfire powers count as shooting so yes they'll be finished after trying to fire with one.
Does two devourers twin-link them still? I haven't played with 'nids since 3rd ed

No, but twin linked devourers is the option available in the codex. The Hive Tyrant is able to take 2x Twin-linked Devourers (on the model this looks like 4 devourers but they're only 2 and are purchased as such.) Having 2 of a weapon doesn't make it twin-linked anymore.

To add a little more to this...the 2 x dev build tends to net you the most offense. 18" on the guns means with a 24" move you have a fairly decent range on offense. Unless someone infiltrates or scouts in an odd way you likely wouldn't be using either weapon on your first turn. Not to mention you are only VS at s6 which is the same as your shooting but you get more with the devs.. so it makes a better anti flyer weapon as well. Automatically Appended Next Post: And the only witchfire power you are getting is warp lance/blast which is eating up both your warp charges and giving you a single shot... of which you have to pass a test, them not deny it... hit with it... wound wound/pen with it... Just a lot of variable to fail on.

TLDev is the bread an butter of the flyrant offense.
The VS is nice *if* you are in position for it, and there are models with good saves you can bypass.
Thorax is nice *if* a situation comes up where you need to Haywire a vehicle, or if there are models in cover you can blast.
