So i have looking for a new theme for my ork army. and i was wonting to think really outside the box. and i love looting and converting everything i got. Rinos/stormtalons/monoliths/sm bikers but i have moved into a whole different idea. i wanted to make my entire ork army outta all looted tyrinids. i want all my boys riding gaunts. my boys riding gargoyles as stormboys. have them capture Crones and harpys! Loot Exocrines and Carnifex Broods for my looted wagons! Tervigons and Trygons for my trucks and battle wagons!

I understand this might be costly but money is no restricting imo for such a fun theme!
tell me if anyone else has any good nid themed ideas for my orks!

Its not a bad idea. I wouldn't mind seeing what you can come up with.

It has been done really really well before,it has also been done really really badly, too. I would plan it out carefully if i were you, as buying all those models for something that looks like ork boys glued to Tyranids will hurt your soul.

But like i said, its definitely possible to do it well. but get some ideas from here or elsewhere on the net before you start.

i've seen it done a coupla times here and there, so its great to see anouther person taking a stab at it, with all there new models its a converters dream right now. Keep us updated.

i think you need some extra army background to justify how nids could believably be "looted" - a captured nid can't simply be tamed like e.g. a wild horse.

One possibility is that some crazed Painboy and Mekboy have together designed a bionic "nid controller" device which is surgically implanted into a nid and then fools the nid into thinking it's obeying the Hive Mind (and/or Synapse) when it's actually obeying its ork handler.

That would be fairly easy to model - just add some electronic gizmo (or even just a few scars and bolts) to each nid's head.

It can look really cool if done correctly. However, ask yourself if you are willing to commit to having to convert every. single. model. in your army.

your argument is invalid! Orks philosophy: if they think it will happen it WILL happen.

another neat idea i dont see often(maybe at all) would be orks in Nid skins(exoskeletons...husks...idk) but like gront in side of gaunts piloting them like gaunt bike riders but bloody and nasty lol that would be epic Nobs inside of Warriors wearing them like an exterior skin

Woah. Never thought of that. That would be... Interesting. Might give it some theory crafting

A while back there was an epic looted Carnifex floating around the net. If I recall the ork was yanking on exposed nerves to control it. Kinda like the Silt Striders from the Elder Scrolls if you know them.

So yeah, done well it can look fantastic.
