What are units/tech that i exclusive to DA? For lore purposes primarily. I know the Ravenwing is exclusive but not sure about the rest of the Legion and their resources

Well, for one Dark Angels do not follow the Codex and not even the marines know too much about their own chapter, because the most vital informations are kept within the Inner Circle, even though they make everyone think they are a goodie-good Codex chapter.

They have Deathwing and Ravenwing companies based on TDA and bikes/landspeeders respectively designed for very specific roles.

DA have always had huge affinity towards plasma weaponry, hence the Vengeances. They have power field generators and other ancient technology such as the Darkshrouds. Don't forget their love for tortures and things like porta-racks!

Another thing would be their flyers - Nephilims and Dark Talons - designs unique to them.

Overall fluff-wise they love plasma weaponry, ancient technologies, power fields and robes. Space Marines took some of their stuff with new codex, but the main principle remains.

Oh, and Watchers in the Dark.

From my lore readings, the majority of their DA specific tech is old stuff they found within their temple on Caliban that they adapted to fit modern tech.

Using this as a base model could I use a splinter faction of the DA that has access to all of the tech but isn't a part of the main force of the DA on Caliban?

Their a very traditionalist chapter. They believe they are the first among legions for a reason and that their history and their tactics alone equal an I win button. However due to this mixed with their secretive nature their very behind the times tech wise, reliant on old machines, traditional tactics, and other things like that to win the day. Whereas other chapters can call on new machines to help them like stormtalons and grav weapons.

Personnaly I think that the da need to get off their high horse and start acting like normal people if they hope to stand a chance at survival in the 42 millennium. As those new toys would do them a world of good (deathwing centurions zomg!)

I thought the tragic air of repressed homosexuality was unique to DA too, right? Not, you know, a wargear upgrade, or anything...

Anyways, if you go to the GW website (and don't kill yourself navigating it) you can do a pretty easy comparison of what they sell for DA and what they sell for SM. Odds are extremely good that things they sell for DA and not for SM is happenstantially the same list of things that DA have access to, and SM don't.

Nephi pilots are constantly harassing their Tech marines to push their fighters to the limits... didnt show up in the codex though

Dark Knights are fairly unique to the Da aswell
