O&G vs woodelves.
2x6 snotlings, march 8" to the side (they skirmish) and throw 6 auto hitting S2 no armor save shots unit of Wild Riders (killing 2).
Wild Riders charge in, and 6 more auto hits from the stand and fire kill 2 more.
The surviving wild rider does 3 wounds, and take 12 S2 attacks back, hitting on 5's, wounding on 5's, and kill the last one.
Now, rightfully afraid of the power of the snotling, the wood elf player opens fire on them. -1 to hit for skirmish, 5 wounds per base, 30 wounds per unit (210 point units).
Needless to say, the archer fire is terrible at doing 30 wounds, even against T2 models.
Meanwhile, doom divers and rock lobbers pummel the enemy warmachine hunters.
On turn 3, a rock lobber hit and two doom divers correcting back on target kill the wood elf wizard lord. Orcs in the backfield start to build roasting fires and collect the dead/lunch.

In all seriousness, it looks like Swarms may be the bane of the wood elf glass cannon.

Awesome. Great thematically too. Now, the other option is just to ignore the slow and fairly unwieldy Snotlings (that's a lot of pretty big bases) and ride around, shooting at the Orcs and charging the war machines.

I still think unit placement, movement, and elusiveness are going to be key for the Wood Elves. I'm not keen to get drawn into trying to build a "stand toe to toe" army like the HE have with White Lions/Phoenix Guard. WE don't have the armour, and they DO have shooting to rival just about anyone.

A lack of war machines is concerning to some degree, though....

Anyway, great post!

5000 pts High Elves 4000 pts, Warriors of Chaos 4000 pts, Dwarfs 3000 pts, Wood Elves and Greenskins too

Swarms are the bane of most hammer units, being unstable and all that stuff.

That is 400pts to combat less then 200pts of 5 Wild Riders? Congratulations? While in theory this works fine, those Snotlings would be the perfect thing for Dryads to charge or for spells to pick off for kill points. If a Spell Weaver casts Dwellers Below (with help from +5 to cast!) on this unit would you use your scroll? No, how many dice would you throw at it? Yeah, while Snotlings may work very well against a specific target, against a few other things they are just waiting to give up VP's.

You are going to get shot to bits before you get within range for that attack. What is its range anyway?

Throwing weapon.

Also, the thought of elves being subservient to things that ride a thing called a "pump wagon" is hilarious. Someone once brought up the Snotling Pump Wagon in our store and we all thought he was talking about some sex toy.

Thrown weapon, on a skirmishing unit.
So march and fire, and effective threat range of 14".
It's the auto hits that's the funny part. Or is it the ignore armor saves that's the funny part? I don't know, it's all funny to watch glass cannons get shattered by snotlings.
Shots to bits? Skirmish for -1 to hit, and 30 wounds on the unit. Best of all, you'd have to be actually shooting at snotlings to be killing snotlings, which means you're not firing on the chariots, manglers, doom divers or stone throwers.
