7e with all units scoring, I can see them being useful for a last minute grab by wiping off out small troop units on an objective and taking it.

I could also see them as a good unit to bring to try and grab objectives on the otherside of the field during those maelstrom missions. Just have them hide until you run them out and grab some objective.

The problem is that I can't see how Biker marine allies, Grav shuted in troops, or Death rider allies can't do the same job but better.

Biker Marines requires your ally slot, grav shooted cant charge on the same turn to go for the combat contest or wipe. Death riders are FW(which means not 100% accepted) and until they update the rules and points for them are going to be a little underwhelming,

We are not saying they are the best choice in any way shape or form, just that they might be passable.

I was just thinking... couldn't you get a large unit of them and outflank? I dunno, might be good enough of a distraction unit to last 2 turns.

That's why your valkyries nuke the infantry off the board first before grav-chuting them in.

Thinking about running an Unbound army based around the Death Riders from Imperial Armor #5 Second Edition as they are easily the way to go. 2 wounds, ignore casualties from shooting LD tests and a 6+ FnP is to much to pass up. Thanks to Unbound Armies I'll be able to run over x60 of these guys supported by some tanks and fliers.

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.
