I'm very excited for these, as long as they fix the goals of the teams. Team Magma/Aqua were very, very stupid, in my opinion.

Yeah, that was always an issue. Actually, making the sun shine like Team Magma wanted would likely cause sea levels to rise by melting the polar ice caps. I enjoyed them as characters, but you're right- their goals were dumb. Let's hope that Blaise from Adventures shows his face- he was a cool Team Magma Admin.

I'm very excited for these. I didn't get X or Y because I don't have a 3DS, but I'm going to have to dish out for these, the gen 3 games were awesome.
Also, I'm expecting the mega latis to be awesome.

A lot of information about the mega Latis is already out there. Weirdly, they look pretty much identical.

Yeah, I think they've just got a few differences in colour between them. I don't think we know what their abilities will be, or a few details like that though.

We know their stats, and I'm sure I saw a YouTube video which explained their abilities.

Article I found which has stats

Except these are 3DS games, so I don't know how you're supposed to play them.

About time they confirmed it, it's been guessed it'd come out for a while now. Like predicting the next call of duty, but not as repetitive.

I'll keep an eye out, but I'm fairly sure Smogon's said they don't know the abilities yet. And yes, I know the stats are already known. There have been rumors about multiscale as the ability, but they're almost certainly wrong.

I mean that these are going to be worth getting a 3DS for. I may not have any money, but I'll get these games somehow.

While the story wasn't that good, I always like the pokemon from that generation.

Sceptile FTW.

Of course not.

It's also on 2DS.

Well, I'm pretty sure they're going to be a 3DS/2DS release

And Treeko was awesome, even in the anime. Sceptile and Serperior are two of my favorite grass-types, and definitely two of my favorite starters. Totodile is still my #1, though.

Edit - I forgot about the 2DS

Oh, don't get me wrong, I fething love Typhlosion. Cyndaquil was my starter on Gold, but I learned to love Totodile when I played through Silver.

And agreed, Tepig is the lamest fire-type starter.

It'd be nice if they gave Sceptile and Swampert something to bring them back to OU. Mega evolutions are probably a given, but I'd also like to see them function decently outside of that.

The one starter I had that wasn't grass had to be Tepig. Why is he seen as bad anyway?

Because Tepig's evolutionary line has bruiser stats but fire fighting is a bad typing for someone as slow as Emboar and his defenses are less than adequate.

To be fair the entire black/white starter generation kind of suffered from typing and stat mismatches.

I'll agree with most of that. Most of Gen 5 seemed kinda...meh to me.

Most of gen 5 was just plain bad. Not only did most of them look like garbage, but the entire generation power creeped pretty hard, and turned the entire metagame into one hyper-offensive wankfest. Thankfully, gen6 went and fixed a lot of that.

Probably my favorite generation. Hopefully they make it as expansive as gold and silver. And give us an opportunity to to the battle dome stuff but make it less tedious.

Also redoing the team magma and team aqua plans would be a great start. how about we want groudon to cause volcanic eruptions to create more land mass?
Or kyogre to move the polar icecaps and flood the main land?

I honestly think gen 3 was the worst. Not that there weren't a lot of gems in gen 3 but there was a whole pile of trash in that gen. 5 was positively meh, but I think 3 was overall worse.

Still getting these though

Gen 2 was the best. Hands down.

Damn straight. Gen 2 had the benefit of being leftover ideas and concept art from gen 1 The fruition of everything Gen 1's designers wanted.
