11 Pods so 6 will come down initially. Most likely the sternguard the ironclads and some melta tacs if they have transports hiding their infantry otherwise we drop flamer assault squads instead of the melta tacs. Vulkan probably will go with the sternguard to help their effectiveness after they blow their combis on some MC or pop a few on a tank.

You lack anti air. One heldrake can make for a not so fun game.
You should take a stalker instead of the thunderfire, that will help.
Also i would drop two of the assault squads so you can get full tac squads. And i would drop the locator beacons off of the dreads, itll spare you some points.

So if you get the second turn, and someone kills your TFC on the first turn you lose right? Since you would have no models on the table...
Or am i wrong?

You are wrong. If he has no models on the table at the end of his turn he loses. So he's got 6 pods coming in he should be alright.

One game turn consists of two player turns. Its on the first few pages of the rulebook.

The main plan is to largely ignore the flyers since they will likely get one good round of shooting off on me before being forced to zoom off. I had an extra 100 so I grabbed a TFC. My problem with the stalker is that if the enemy is remotely competent he will just shoot it first and kill the one thing that can reliably damage his fliers. If I had points for two of them or a stormtalon I'd grab them

I would take a cmd squad with combi weapons instead of the sternguard. Should save a few points since you expect them to die the turn after they show up

Good idea, so I'll swap the sternguard for a command squad with 4 meltas since anymore is overkill. Then with the points saved I can drop the locater beacons and the TFC for two stalkers to hide out of LOS and/or in reserves.
