Got a mate that is playing blood angels and one who is playing Chaos. So i have built this list around either if those armies.

I have tried to include as many guns as i possible could. I have an xv25 team that im thinking of replacing the hammerhead with as they provides more shots per turn but im pretty sure my mates will field some sort of heavy vehicle. Let me know what you think?

Edit: forgot a HQ. removed afew firewarriors and even the teams up and will run a fireblade with one of them. Plan is to use then as a static fireline doubling their shots per round. I know he is expensive for what you get. But my only other choice was a commander xv8 which is expensive. And as long as i play my tactic right i get a load more shots using the fireblade than i do with the xv8.

I don't know much about Tau, but it doesn't look like there are any HQs in your list?

True. Must have over looked it.

At 500pts don't expect heavy vehicles. I'll be real wit chu, the most threatening thing you will see is a leman russ which is av13 at the front. Your crisis suits and hammerhead can damage it already.

Don't expect many meq's and few mc's.

Tbh it's hard to criticize any tau list so long as it doesn't have kroot hounds or vespids as everything else is useful lol.

Leman russ is 14 front, 13 side and 10-11 back

Leman russes have been ruining people's day in small lists for generations. Av14 and a high strength blast plus many weapon options..but a hammerhead can bring the pain especially with disruption pods.
A nice cheap HQ would be a etheral and a good force multiplier for any firewarriors...as a IG player myself markerlights can really bring the hurt and (forgive me if I'm wrong) a pathfinder unit can be also used to contest-hold?? objectives.

Where are the Markerlights, man? Drop the Hammerhead and run Crisis Suits w/ Fusion Blasters. Include Missile Pods if you have the points. They can be your mobile Anti-Tank units, but as previously mentioned, at anything under 750 Points you shouldn't see a lot of MEQ or MCs. If someone is running a Mechanized IG list at 750 Points they are d*cks. That said, your list looks good. But honestly, Pathfinders are a must. (Need that increased Firewarrior BS, dude!) Also, I would personally just use Fusion Blaster Crisis Suits over the Hammerhead. They will draw less fire and survive quite a bit longer, at least from my experiences. As with anything and everything I, or anyone else (for that matter) posts, YMMV.

I was confused by the same thing, Crisis Suits and Pulse Rifles? I think he may have just been confused.

Yeh sorry ment to write plasma rifle. I dont have another crisis team to replace my hammerhead which Im hoping it become a destraction for the other team. I do have a stealth team i can replace the hammerhead with though. What do you think? Replace the crisis team plasmas with fusion and risk them getting close and run a stealth team with bursts to support them. I have used the stealth with a fusion to deepstrike in behind a leman russ and destroy it, but i got pretty lucky with the rolls.

Hmm. I'm not a fan of the Stealth Suits myself. Why not replace Hammerhead with Pathfinders + Devilfish? As for Plasma Rifles vs. Fusion Blasters? It's a matter of preference. I'm a Melta fanatic, so I run Fusion Blasters all day, every day. But Plasma Rifles are good, also. I just really think that Hammerhead will get focused First Turn and be a surprising waste of points. In terms of low point games, more boots is typically a good thing.

Id run pathfinders but i dont have any unfortunatly.

Right away I suggest that you run Farsight Enclave since you are already running a crisis team of 3 suits. It makes all crisis teams scoring troop choices. Then I would switch the hammerhead and a fire warrior team for a riptide with earth caste pilot. You arn't losing a scoring unit since the crisis team becomes scoring.
