So I'm thinking about doing an Adeptus Custodes army (Emperors guards for those of you who are unsure). I like the Idea of them being really super ferocious and basically just crushing heads in CC. So because of this I was thinking of doing them as Khorne Chaos Warriors and just claiming mark of the Emperor or something to that effect. What are peoples opinions on this? Do you think it's a little too much of a stretch?

Go with GK or something, they are close enough.

The reason I don't like GK for it is I can't find psykers fitting their fluff, nor can I find them being comprised so heavily of terminators. They were the first thought though

There pretty different so think your going to have to find a starting point n build own profiles. There ment to be highly elite, not quite primarch level but more than space marines,

If you're also willing to wait awhile, FW will be making rules and models for them within the next couple Horus Heresy books.

So been considering creating my own Fan Made Codex now, and came up with these units. As a not anything "Praetorian" is Close Combat oriented, anything "Custodian" is Shooting oriented. The codex will be sparse because it is so elite,and almost everything will be in artificer armour (and appropriately priced for that);

Calgar unlocks like a triple honor guard squad, use a count as to represent him and the honor guard as your Custodes, use them as allies for either other Marines(IF would be fluffy) or AM since Custodes are really just close combat guards as far as I know and just model the AM troopers all royal to represent Terran based Troopers maybe even use the Stormtrooper dex to show how elite these guys are?
