hi folks
I'm looking for some advice how to use some models in my possession to create a workable army based on the Adeptus Custodes.
I've managed to get hold of some Custodes miniatures produced in Russia that are equal to GW quality and in the case of the terminator equal to FW quality. I have managed to get hold of these:

I've managed to get three squads of these so that's 15 models in total. the bottom picture shows what they break down to in their component parts

managed to get three of these bad boys as well. again this model shows what you received but the assembled and painted model shows a converted model.

I'm looking at some way of fielding these as a coherent force in friendly and games club games as id never get away with fielding these in a GW store.
I have been considering fielding them as grey knight but not sure how. I'm not adverse to converting a few of the Custodes and termies (though I would like to keep one termie with a fire pike) so they are armed with flamers or psycannons (any suggestions on making plastic or easily convertible psycannons is much appreciated) and possibly adding the funky metal GW venerable dread as it fits in well with the models. if needs be could also add some guard or similar, seen some nice conversions using wood elf legs and cadian torsos that I could use.
I'm looking at roughly a 1000 to 1500 force that's a good all rounder just don't have any ideas as to make it a viable one.
any suggestions folks would be gratefully received
cheers

No need to be covert about it.  They were made by VELARD miniatures, and after someone posted about them on Dakka a while back, it took all of maybe 2 days for them to disappear from the page. Gee, wonder why...

As for the actual question of the thread, there really isn't any way to get a real army out of just those miniatures. Using the Daemonhunters codex, you could easily just take 3 squads of 5 Grey Knights as troops, and Grey Knight termies are allowed to be taken in a squad of 3, although 'fists aren't an option for them, so you'd have to claim those represent their Nemesis weapons. None of that is really a good idea as far as in-game effectiveness goes, due to how fragile those small squads are for their points costs, but that's what you can do with what you have there. I'd reccommend just using the "fire pike" bit as the Psycannon for the squad. Despite the impressive stats of the Psycannon, GW just models it as a lousy Stormbolter with a single funny-looking barrel, which I always found incredibly lame.

Then you just need to worry about your HQ and whatever else you want to add.  Given the way those Custodes models look, I'd say think about fielding a Grey Knight Grand Master or Inquisitor in termie armor, based off one of the as-awesome-today-as-they-ever-were old-style Grey Knights models.  They'd fit in pretty well, I think.
