1500's my BT's sweet spot, so I always like playing at that level. Any bigger and I'm forced to field redundant units because of my model collection, while my brother starts allying his Tau with Eldar, turning the whole thing into a pretty one sided affair.

Because you live in SD, which IS far away from everyone. Its only half my fault. I didn't ask the government to put me way out in the middle of nowhere... Move to Buffalo. We have beer, wings and hockey. Sort of. OK fine. We have Canadian beer and hockey. But we still have wings.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I think 1500-1850 is ideal, because for most armies, it lets you bring a few toys beyond your basic troops, but you have to rein yourself in if you want to have a decent, balanced list.
That said, I typically play 2000 because that's what my local FLGS plays.

500 to 1000 is perfect. Minimum toys, maximum strategy. (only guy who put 500 as his vote)

Call me crazy but I love low point games. Playing them as well as looking at low point army list is what I like most about 40k. Automatically Appended Next Post: Swastakowey wrote:500 to 1000 is perfect. Minimum toys, maximum strategy. (only guy who put 500 as his vote) I got your back bro !

750 to 1750 points. For most of 2013 we restricted ourselves to 750, and even ran some fast tourneys at that points level at the LGS. However, from january onwards I've had just three games of 40k, all of them at the 2000 points mark.
750-1500 keeps being my favorite points band, though. As many of you said before, less conflicts, more strategy.

Used to play 2000pts all the time, now somewhere in the 500-1500 point range. The most resent games we've played have been 1500-1750, though that will be dropping in the near future. Smaller games up to 1250pts are easier for us to play because of time restraints.

Well you aren't. Its just a shame there aren't enough of us close to each other to get these games rolling more often. Automatically Appended Next Post: I do kinda wish they separated 2,000 from the higher numbers as it doesn't really give us an accurate count of people who would play 10,000 points per side games.

For 3k+ games, our group moves from 6x4 to 8x4 table size IIRC (might even be 9 or 10x4, not my table so I dont remember exactly)...it helps mitigate the overcrowding.

I like 1000 points games, they give you enough versatility to field what I want, however, I go an extra 500 points either way.

1850, but if I play 7th, I can see dropping down to 1500. Game seems like it will take longer, so limiting points values should help with that.
