Hello all
I was given the confidence of my client to paint up his warmachine cygnar army. It'll be a whole army, so updates will follow...
But I'm the kind of guy who likes to start by eating dessert. So I did this nifty "little guy" first. Enjoy!
It was an utter joy to paint. A pain to assemble though...
Enjoy!

Can I suggest skipping forward 10 years to the age where you don't really care about what people say on the internet. Studies show that it decreases your anger about life in general by 37%. - Flashman |

It looks good overall, but why did you not blend or soften the white parts and the redish wash you used on the jacks? Doesn't flow with the rest of the paint job/skill.

It's all the same wash, also for the blue parts. The contrast against the white is just way stronger. I'll see if I can't soften that up a bit with some grey, but I'm afraid there will always be a slightly stronger tonal difference. The wash is made with dry powders/satin varnish mix btw. So the buildup is slightly erratic as it is, but that's often the case with rust.

Ah ok. Yeah the powder isn't coming off as rust on the jacks where the white is. The blue it achieves the rust results though. The problem isn't so much the tonal difference I don't think, good contrast is welcome often. I think it is because there are some hard uniform lines. You could maybe break the lines up or blotting it on so it's more random.
The first model look A+ btw.

I did a bit of touch-up work with the airbrush to lessen the contrast on the white weathering. Lightly feathering over it did the trick and still kept some shading. Pics about that will follow.
For now, some infantry, all done to standard quality:

Almost there. The client will pick them up in a few days, but here's an overview of what was done before the propper pics are taking in the lightbox. Only 4 more warcasters to go now:
