You are part of a mystical, alien race. You bend the magic of the warp to be used in battle. The eldar are commanded by powerful, mystical leaders called farseers. You favour powerful heroes and stealthy units but if it goes wrong you have your powerful tanks.

Best tip: use the game as a learning experience. Ask your opponent what they would do. Play on their sympathy that it's your first game.

I played my first full game in 12 years today. I lost with the last roll of the dice - how far my fleeing Kheeyoosss Spehhsss Mureens could run when they had the Relic. Got chased down by Space Wolves :(

I arranged the fight with a guy I met in GW and told him I had a few massive handicaps - I had no AA or anti-tank stuff, so I asked him to consider this when building his army. He was awesome and only fielded infantry

I believe the new rules have essentially removed the force organisation chart, so it probably is a legal list now.

Appears she will be playing the new 7th edition rules.

Thank you to everyone that gave me tips and advice I had not seen the ones posted yesterday before my battle I will look at making my warp talons nurgle we lost every battle however we did manage to wipe out an Imperial Knight which no other team managed to do and I have started using my Hell Drake effectively for wiping out 2 squads with one hit just need to work on preventing it getting killed

Good to hear. 7th Edition should give you a fresh canvas to start learning from. Ill be updating that link once I have fully absorbed the changes in 7th which are subtle but significant in a lot of areas.

Congrats on a job fairly well done!

Welcome to the 2nd day of 7th ed!

From reading a good chunk of the rule book most of the game is the same, the psychic faze and a few special rules are different which isn't bad.

I would suggest finding a theme (strictly competitive is a theme) and from there build a list if its nurgle you can do heldrakes supporting PM with duel plasmas or meltas. And likewise for any other mark of chaos.

For Hqs my favorite part by far would be a chaos lord on blood crusher with axe of blind furry, he has yet to fail me but costs his fair share of points.

Sounds really good I then had another battle the following day My Hell Drake wiped out nearly 4 entire squads (leaving about 2 soldiers left in 2 of the squads) I was doing another tag team battle against Imperium and Adapta Sororite the mark of nurgle really helped out my Warp Talons they helped out with beating some of the enemy and my terminators were given mark of Tzeentch which wiped out a squad I have been using a Terminator Sorcerer as my war lord it ended in a draw which was better results than last time just got to work on who helps out who might pair up my nurgle Warp Talons with my Slaanesh Demon Prince not sure yet but there is definitely an improvement

Deamon princes are fun! If you make him a deamon of slaanesh though make sure to make him a psyker
otherwise give him the mark of nurgle for the +2 to your cover save
