I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve. The Paint scheme looks good but, the brown splatters of paint are supposed to be what ? Mud / Dirt ? Weathering could do wonders with pigments. Mod / Rust/ oil effects.

Yes, the spatters are meant to be mud flung up from the tracks. Wasn't going for a 100% scale model tank look, this is going to be used quite a bit on the tabletop so I didn't use pigment. Also pigment and more oil washes would have taken more time and cost my friend a little more than he wanted to spend

Sure - this was my first 'commission' so I wasn't sure what to charge - we agreed on retail price so £85 which is a combination of 'friend price' and a trial run for future painting commissions for the same friend. Also I wanted something different than my usual Chaos stuff for my painting portfolio.
I took a long time to finish this, which I know a normal customer wouldn't like but as this was for a friend he was more than patient with me and in the end we agreed on the new 7th edition book set plus both sets of cards (objectives and psyker). He also got me a Finecast model I've been wanting as a bonus, so the end total was about £80. I'll be doing 3 Imperial Knights for him as well when he gets me the model sets. This time I'll be building them so no mold lines!

Ah ok wasn't sure what was trying to be achieved. As I said paint scheme looks great. My only 2 cents was pigments but, even without it looks great.

Very nice! I like the camo pattern and colour choice, not something you see very often. The specks of mud work really well - your friend has a great friend!

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

Thanks guys!
This being my first time painting 40K for someone else I had to ask for a few sample photos, and then I made sure doing some weathering was OK. I've just recently got back into scale modeling and extreme weathering is a big thing with WW2 tanks but I didn't want to go too far with this (partly because it was done for 'mates rates') so the weathering is mostly spattering with airbrush and drybrushing for the exposed metal.
I think with him getting an IG/ AM contingent in the near future I'll be doing a few more tanks in this scheme!
