...was announced to be follwed up by Spore 2.0, a game that would supposedly change all the really bad stuff of Spore and expand on what was good, would you be interested?

Spore, IMHO, had the single best base concept for a game ever. Despite its numerous flaws I had lots of fun with it. If someone made a truly big and good Spore game I would personally play the hell out of it.

What's your thoughts?

How long would I be able to play it before it was completely populated by phallus creatures? The issue with an evolution based MMO is that it must of necessity use the denizens of the internet- and that is a problem no amount of coding can circumvent.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleyways and mugs them for loose grammar.

Well yes. If they remade spore or did a spore 2.0, I would love it. I just don't see why you have to torture me with ideas that are never going to happen.

No, it was far (far) to ambitious in its scope which resulted in the end result being a series of extremely shallow games. I can't see how this would be any different with Spore 2.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

I don't remember Spore requiring you to use user generated content ever. A follow up game needs deeper planetary exploration. How hard is it to make a random map generator with various base planet types?

The only way we can ever solve anything is to look in the mirror and find no enemy

I wouldn't consider Spore an MMO. If they made a Spore 2, unless they said it's gonna be an MMO, I wouldnt assume its going to be an MMO either...MMOMMOMMO.....MMO

I'd like some more variety. Like more options in regards to how you interact with other beings. Like in the Tribal stage I would have preferred an option to enslave or to "link up" with another tribe through economic means instead of "ima dance for you!" or Khorne's method of conquering. City stage could use a political motive with the main three options, although I suppose that falls under the Trader tree.

Space needs more. Lots more. Planet exploration and interaction by default. City interaction so you can visit other people and mingle. Invasions need a bit more depth besides "shoot everything to bits". Might add another twist to the Trader option with the allied race trying to buy out your planets.

Oh, and more soundpacks. Lots and lots more soundpacks please.

Too much of a hypothetical. "Spore" is owned by EA, and with the abortion that was SimCity 5 that repeated all the mistakes of Spore and move, it's too far of a stretch to assume Spore can remove its downsides for a sequel. Even worse, we'd get DLC.

I'd rather have a kickstarter for an EVO sequel or something.

Wait. What were the flaws in Spore? I never found any. (Except mabye having far too many pirate attacks on space colonies)

  • Insufficient depth

  • Poorly designed sharing function

  • Poorly designed adventures (Only railroad design was possible)

  • Lazily designed details (Voices, for example- only a male voice was possible except for insectoids in certain cases)

  • Low complexity limit

I think the biggest problem with Spore is that it hasn't aged well. Back in 2007 it was a fine game but nowadays it just doesn't quite make the cut.I'd certainly be interested in a Spore 2 though- it was one of my favourite games for a long time, and with the increased capabilities of today's games/PCs I think it would work well provided EA didn't completely feth it up.

Oh, EA would feth it up no doubt. the EA of now is not the EA of old, even if the EA of now was showing its ugly face every now and then even back in 2007. Just look at the bot parts farce and the cut phases.
