Which edition of the 40K rulebook had the templates for foam core terrain in it ?

I had completely forgotten about it until watching a Youtube video that mentioned the Imperial Bunker.

If there is a source online, that would keep me from having to track down ancient rulebooks, that would be nice as well.

Thanks,
Adam

The 4th Edition rulebook, aka the best edition. My opinion.

*I'm learning to log in so that post button is there. I lurk a lot.

I think 3rd and 4th both had them.
4th definitely had the bunker templates.

I still have my books - up to 5th - I never bothered to buy 6th since I only played 2 games of it.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Yeah. I've played since third and have to say that the 4th edition BRB was far and away the best.

Not only were there the rules, but there was stuff about tons of different ways to play the game. Really detailed campaign layouts, kill-team when it was more than just combat oriented, stuff about experience with suggestions and examples of how to convert to represent it, and then all the stuff about making terrain and objective markers.

On the note of third edition, I -still- have my 3d BRB.. And I don't see anything in it detailing / suggesting how to build terrain.

Plans to make Bane Blades, Gobsmashas, Spleen Rippas, terrain, etc... stuff like that used to be in White Dwarfs.

They'd sell a ton more White Dwarfs if there was a single scratch building article in each issue.

But the crippling loss of sales on their terrain kits would be unacceptable /Sarcasm.

Just imagine all those Tau, Tyranid, Ork, Eldar, Dark Eldar, and Necron terrain pieces going unsold....
.... Oh wait, they already go unsold since they don't exist

Seriously though, I get them shying away from Imperial Fortification construction, but the Xenos are just left flapping in the wind.

Especially in this era of insanely high buy in costs.

Helping the people who shell out thousands of dollars to you for miniatures have some nice terrain to play on would seem a wise decision to me.

My last 12 months subscription to White Dwarf, back when 6th edition dropped, was an utter waste of money, and probably paper.

If the new weekly White Dwarfs had a scratch build article every week, I would gladly drop the $4, 52 weeks a year.

They could still pimp their paints, glues, basing materials, etc... and provide actual useful content at the same time. MADNESS !!!!

I agree with you whole-heartedly.

I've only gotten two or so copies of White Dwarf over my entire time spent in the hobby (10+ years, so not a whole lot compared to some people). They both had some scratch building stuff and plenty of nifty ideas for conversions in them, so I cherish those ragged old books quite a lot.

The new ones though, whenever I look at them, let me down. It's just an advertising magazine now.. Not much in the way of useful info, ideas, inspiration, ect ect. Just "HEY THESE KITS ARE AWESOME BECAUSE WE SAY SO, OPEN THY WALLET!"
