I just went through the main BRB and I couldn't find it anywhere.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

No mention that I could find at all. Only thing I could find was an add for them, but nothing else.

I've never understood those who restrict FW use given the strength of the most powerful Codex releases.

It is even more unfathomable in this era of "use whatever and however many you like" army list creation

I've never gotten it in the first place anyway
I mean ultimatly the question of forge world boils down to "Is the material and units produced by your subsidiary company, for the express purpose of being used in your game, offical and enchouraged to be used?"

I think common sense should provide all the answer we need here.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

There is tons of pictures of forgeworld stuff like titans, gargants, etc, plus a few 30k models as well in the books at least

Wow, I'm actually surprised by this. Given how badly forgeworld wants to be part of the party, it's strange that the BRB didn't send it an invite. Especially, as mentioned, there's such an increasing sense of laissez faire in the rules themselves. You'd think if GW wanted you to be able to field anything GW makes, that they would make it closer to ANYTHING GW makes, rather than still just sticking to the citadel division for the main rules.

I would have figured that at least the pointlessly-overquoted stamp would have made it in the core rules by now.

Strange.

I guess T.O's have more to worry about these days than just forgeworld...

Let me put it this way:

Gamer 1: Will you play against my Daemon Factory?

Gamer 2: Sure, let me grab my Sabre defense platforms...

Gamer 1: I'm not playing you now, you have Sabre Defense Platforms.

Gamer 2: You're playing a Daemon Factory, what's my nerfed AA platform to you?

Gamer 1: It's FW for pete's sake!

FW makes rules with the '40k approved' stamp, clearly someone would have noticed that by now, and don't forget those prefaces in their books.

It probably got lost in the mail, along with the invite for the rules for generic terrain like forests/hills/etc. I don't know why you're trying to find subtle hidden meanings in a book that so obviously says "we don't care about what we publish".

Don't bother. You're dealing with Ailaros, a person who doesn't exist in the same reality as the rest of us when it comes to FW legality. In his mind it's just a bunch of overpowered stuff that only WAAC sociopaths want to use, and therefore it isn't part of his special Ailaros-approved version of the game. You can quote rules from GW all you like and he'll just ignore it, all that matters is that he doesn't want it to be true.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

yeah , but no one is going to play with them. When escalation became legal all eldar players here , save one , got a recast titan , the only one that didn't already had one bought years ago. I have never seen someone mention kroot or the chaos stuff or the nid stuff . But every AM player hope that saber weapon platforms are going to be added to the normal codex.
pre nerf super Riptides were the talk of the shop too , as some people worried that GW may make them part of a formation. Post nerf no one even bothered to buy a recast one.

I believe the rulebook refers you to Escalation, where you can find all the rules for the Forge World units currently allowed in 40k.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

No I just found it strange, I remember most if not all the previous rulebooks saying something about Forgeworld

GW is one of those companies that seems to subscribe to the notion that it is good business to compete with yourself, much like big-box retail chains.

As such, FW has been, along with Black Library, the primary source of growth in GW, which is likely somewhat embarrassing to GW proper. While the board is no doubt happy with their two subsidiaries, the people behind normal GW doubtlessly want to steal some of the thunder back from FW. This may be a bit of tinfoil hatting on my part, but I don't think it's unreasonable given GW's...curious business strategies.

The best part is, I doubt anyone there can figure out why FW continues to succeed despite every attempt by GW to undermine it and give it no presence in their publications. FW communicates, shows WiP, is directly accessible, even without their formerly fantastic facebook presence (another GW decision), and is clearly run by the studio, not the accountants; they make models and books they want to make, and know the fans will want with a team of talented sculptors and writers. And when 40k proper is becomming more and more of a mess, it shouldn't come as a shocker that people will gravitate towards what is now the "balanced" alternative; The Horus Heresy. Heck, even FW's 40k armies are massively more balanced than what GeeDubs has produced as of late; The Dark Harvest buffs some of the worst units in the Necron codex, but attaches a respectable price tag to them, The DKOK Assault Brigade is powerful, but pays a premium for their buffs, and loses access to whole sections of the normal IG codex, like psychic powers, and so on and so forth.

FW obviously gives a damn about what they produce, and their interaction with their fans, GW doesn't, and wants to undermine them in whatever way they can, whilst knowing they can't be too overt, as the board and shareholders like them.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
