Vallejo glazer medium is damn awesome for thinning paint.

There is no effect on the sheen of the paint.

I've always use GW paints but I bought The Vallejo Game colour advanced set a few weeks ago, 16 paints for £26 and I'm very impressed. you get more paint in the bottle and thanks to the bottle design it wont dry up half way through like a lot of my GW paints. really impressed with how they go on too and will defiantly be getting more

Vallejo's thinner medium is freaking awesome. So is their retarding medium if you're using a lot of paint at once. Next time I get some paint I will picking up the gloss and glaze mediums as well.

Flow improver, plastic putty and chipping medium (all from Vallejo for me, but not exclusive to)
Flow improver in small quantities thinning paint does what you'd expect, but used in conjunction with inks and washes it really helps it get It into the crevices without excessively tinting the surrounding paint (if you don't want to)
Plastic putty just makes liquid green stuff look like gak, much thinner texture makes it easier to get in smaller cracks, and, crucially, you can sand it smooth once dry.
Chipping medium, brilliant for targeted weathering without spending hours painstakingly painting the damage by hand.

I've come to love Vallejo's airbrush thinner. After playing with various DIY mixes for ages, I finally threw a bottle into an existing order and man, what a difference. Makes thinning for spraying completely effortless - eyeball the ratio, give a quick stir, and I'm spraying perfectly smooth coats with almost no tip-dry.
If I had to pick a single "wonder product," though, I'd probably have to go with Pledge FloorCare (Multi-Surface Squirt and Mop). It's super thin and has great flow, while drying to a perfectly clear, hard finish. It works as a thinner, gloss varnish, wash medium... all with a pleasant citrus scent.
