Yeah, he seems to be enough of a donkey cave to make the "One Eye Open" rules appropriate, even for his own men.

Other than that, after having read "A Thousand Sons", I look at them as the lowest of all the legions, a pack of mongrels who should have been culled from the get-go. No real person is hurt by my words, so I'm good with them.
LOL dude read propero burns then your idea of them being bad will change. They had every right to do what they did Horus said a bunch of lies to
Russ but still the thousand sons are evil as hell and i have read both books

Evil? Eh, really all the factions are grimdark in the end. And every right? They complain about sorcerers, get all of psykers banned, continue to use psykers, admit they know it and, to throw some candy on the top, they now go on about how they get their magic from FENRIS which really just means sorcerery. The wolves are not clean in this brawl, KSons aren't either. The biggest blame, of course, goes to a combination of the Emperor and Chaos (although Russ was somewhat foolish to be deceived by a fake spell that was "Magnus")

Russ was tricked by Horus and Magnus screwed the pooch by destroying the golden throne. Originally the Emperor just wanted Magnus arrested but Horus went up to Russ and said a bunch of lies driving him to rage and beat up magnus and gak all over prospero.
Also the wolves used magic with great caution and did not use it like the sons. Like a runepriest sucks compared to anyone from the cults of magnus but that's cause the sons are like little kids with fire!
Also the sons used familiars which are essentially daemons and that really scarred the wolves as well causing a bunch of unrest hell in the Scars book they talk about how the son abuse the magic. Automatically Appended Next Post: But i do admit Magnus was trying to warn the emporer about horus treachery but really screwed up the golden throne making the emporer really busy during the heresy.
So Magnus had good intentions but you know.... Just as planned

I'm not disagreeing that Russ was tricked. Magnus also screwed up although he obviously didn't intend to. It still seems foolish to send a message that Horus could easily mess up right after Magnus sends a message saying DUDE HORUS IS WORKING FOR CHAOS!
Overall, I think we agree to the basics. The Thousand Sons were at fault for playing with fire. They were overconfident. Whilst mighty, they didn't fully understand what they were using. Magnus meant well but just as planned messed it up in its entirity. The wolves were fooled, the Emperor wasn't thinking quite so brilliantly.
To be exact, there is no real way to be entirely safe from the warp. I'm more going to criticize two things. One, they continued to use psykers despite the Emperor banishing such permittence. It's defying the emperor no matter how you look at it. The other is perhaps the more modern interpretation of how Space Wolves nowadays look at their magic coming from Fenris using some evidently mighty spells. Now, perhaps it is unfair to use this standpoint against them but it's a question of how did this belief come to be which never gets fully answered.
really I took more offense to the claim that Thousand Sons were evil as hell. At worst they were misguided individuals that thought they could control something that they really couldn't and, as were all, ignorant of many things.

The funny part is that despite 1ksons using familiars which are essentially demons, and survivors of the rubric being made even more powerful sorcerers, they still aren't any better at summoning demons on the table top than space wolves...
