Simple question, what is your favorite opening to a cartoon? Doesn't matter if you don't like the cartoon. Doesn't matter if it's a Anime or a Western Cartoon.

My favorite opening to a Animated Television show is the 6th opening to the Anime series Naruto Shippuden

The Gargoyles one is pretty good, and I also always liked the Ninja Turtles one, but if I had to pick just one X-Men gets my vote:

And if we want to go a bit more old school, the Thundar the Barbarian opening is pretty great:

This. A million times this. Gives me chills. Just amazing.

Fun fact: if I wake up stiff in the morning and have to stretch, I have to fight down the urge to shout "I live again!"

Every. damn. time.

I'll admit that the Pokemon intro is pretty catchy, but I don't think it really qualifies as a classic.

@ bromsy: good call on the gargoyles opening! one of the greatest cartoons of all time!

my own contributions would have to be this:

and this:

edit: when i was six or so, i rented the hell out of two videos they had at the local video place. they were just about the coolest thing i had ever seen, apart from maybe the road warrior...

this is a full episode, since i couldn't find just the intro...

Honorable mention to GI JOE, especially the cartoon movie opening which still makes me feel the same excitement now as I did when I was kid watching it.

And every time we say those words, somewhere in the world someone just realized Ash Ketchum's name is a pun.

Gargoyles and Batman TAS were already mentioned.

Cowboy Bebop's intro was all class, all the way.

Ergo Proxy's was fantastic as well.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I thought about the Battltech opening, because I am a Battletech fan and the series was fairly good to the genre (minus the mini mechs). I also thought about Cowboy Bebop as a 'cultured' opening. But really I have to go wirth the oldies. Wacky Races, Scooby Doo, both good but this one..... you cant beat:

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I remember watching that around midnight on Fox Kids when I couldn't sleep. It was one fethed up show. xD

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

The sheer feeling of isolation and helpless hope threaded through the show, scarred this young space enthusiast very badly!
