Five, since Tyranids are the PVE race included.

I'm actually really curious about Eldar and Orks, since it looks like Space Marine for the CSM/SM, I wonder how they'll handle comparatively?

As an example we won’t have the Sisters of Battle at launch. We love them, but the reason why they won’t be playable at launch is because it’s almost impossible to make the kind of power they have fit the lore and make it fun at the same time. They always end up being killed by their own team because their pure blood is useful to defeat demons. It’s very difficult to implement that kind of sacrifice in the gameplay and still make it fun to play as a character.
That is AWESOME.

Maybe these guys can be trusted with the fluff afterall.

Some new info posted up when they were discussing on 4chan.

Here's the Founders Pack, at least one of them.

Some important info:

http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/miguel-visits-4chan-org-tg-and-answers-some-questions.20008/

Picked out from there:
10. Sidegrades balances: this is part of our asymmetric balance. Remember our Consumer Promises. Balance is made for the Battle field, not on the 1 vs 1 way. A Space Marine does not say on the Battlefield to 2 Nobs fighting him ‘’Hey, Its not fair!!!’’. What is better a tower or a Bishop in Chess? Your black paw is weaker than my white Queen but you still take me out if you have a good strategy. This is NOT a MOBA. Its Total War, not dual. I will balance it perfect than you will use Orbital Strike on my caractere…. LOL

12. 5th factions will be choosen by votes next year for release after launches.
14. For the false info regarding Founders ONLY gameplay items (WHICH IS NOT TRUE like said above) see detailed description here: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/so-about-that-outcast-ranger.19851/

None yet. Though an older quote said around 40-100$, but that may have changed.

I think the only time we'll get an accurate one is a few days before it drops on the 25th.

Edit: Found it

How much?
40$ you get the full game all 4 faction and 40k founder points.
80$ full game and 88k points.
120$ full game and 132k points.

extra points can be buyed at 1$=1k ratio.

With that being the case, I imagine that most DLC will be price around 5000-20000 points each.

$40 for the basic founder's package is very reasonable, imo. I'd be willing to drop cash on that.

I don't think paying for an unfinished game can ever be considered "reasonable".

Me though I'm rather excited, but I'm not one to pay over 50$+ for a founders pack, some of them have been like 150$ even for moba games.

Well, the point of a founder's pack is to support the game by paying for it before it comes out; so I don't see how it being unfinished is relevant in any way. That's why it's called a founder's pack. It's completely optional, and they give you a bunch of free gak and privileges in addition to the base game.

So it's like, if you have the money to burn, how is it unreasonable?

Yeah it's like the 100 dollar games to be basically a beta tester and you only get to play alpha. If I remember 'galactic civilizations III' is doing that as well.

Edit:

I'm kind of unsure if their comment on making orks 'free to play' was insulting or one of the more brilliant ideas I've heard. Free players would be a lot more common and less organized whereas space marines are more disciplined and probably full of themselves for being paying users. It's insulting but sounds brilliant.

You're missing the point (both of you - you and BlaxicanX). The game's not done. It's an incomplete game with incomplete features, and they're selling it already. You're paying to do beta-testing. Paying. If they want to do a beta-test they should do a beta-test. They shouldn't ask people to pay to get involved and bribe them with in-game power (making the game already a pay-to-win game).

This is no different to Early Access, and it's a sourge on the gaming industry. You should pay for finished games, not games that may get never finished. Imagine if this game goes the route of Dark Millennium. Consider the other games this mob have made.

And they want you to pay for an unfinished version of their game.

Yeah it's worse than pre-ordering and we know what happens when a game turns out to suck. Sure you get to play early but you're basically paying to be a beta tester and the game might suck or not be all it could be when you start playing it. I agree completely at most if they want us to beta test they should hand out keys for people that reserved a place.

Companies are finding out new ways to get money out of you like kickstarter and that alone has potential to be a scam.

Isn't Founder just a pre-order with benefits? Since when has pre-ordering something been all that ludicrous? I could understand if it was something like Kickstarter where you they are using the funds to make the game, but the game is already funded. This is just a pre-order incentive which isn't really a new or radical idea, or some plague on the industry.

Aliens: Colonial Marines was a pre-order. I don't need to say more.

Anyway yeah when you pre-order you don't know what you're gonna get and might get stuck with a piece of gak. Not so much for buying once it's released and the reviews are out (though supposedly player reviews are more trusted since game sites are paid to write a good review at times).

Every game has a pre-order, and one can list just as many great games that were pre-ordered as bad ones. Actually I can't think of any game I pre-ordered that I was disappointed with, but I am picky about pre-ordering. You can get a game without a pre-order and it still might suck. Admittedly you are taking more of a risk with a pre-order, but pre-ordering is entirely optional.

Pre-order is a risk. You risk getting a game that isn't good based upon the promises made by a publisher (and they're not to be trusted). Sometimes you don't care about the risk because you're getting the game no matter what (like me and the next Arkham game), and sometimes you don't take the risk because you want to see how it runs first (like me and Watch_Dogs).

What this does however is lead to a bunch of very angry people who scream at anyone who doesn't think the game lived up to expectations because they have to justify to themselves that they didn't waste their money before seeing the product.

Early Access (and these sorts of things) is worse, as you're now paying for incomplete games and doing the work of a tester for the company and giving them money for the privilege.

Except it's as said a pre-order, pre-orders carry plenty of risks, one does not need to buy things within it

Though lets be honest, Dark Millennium was a barely talked about game, nothing of substance, literally no one knew anything and it just came out one day with a random trailer. There was literally no information beyond that it was a mmo and that the trailers showed things off, something was wrong there from day one with how little info with how long it was in production. Rather like the World of Darkness mmo.

Also if you actually know, they aren't offering power. Unique skins and such is not considered power, though for some I know it is an annoying trade.

But it's your opinion, and there is nothing wrong with it and I can understand how people would feel that way for it.

Colonial Marines shows that all games are "almost unknown" up until theirrelease. A gameplay trailer means little.

That aside, where did I say that I would buy a founder's package before any gameplay was shown?

Well they have shown off a few vids of the game when they played it in the really, really alpha state.
