G'day dakka
Looking for a good unit that has a fluffy feel for an angry torch weilding lynch mob!

I wanted something cheap points wise without guns or pistols for each person as I wanted to fluff out the bottom of the barrel of humanity

So far all I've thought of is the zombie horde of Typhus but they can only be bought with typhus... Any other units in other armies I haven't thought of?

Closest thing to something like that i can think of is conscripts

Though they carry lasguns. (just dont shoot them eva!)

BS2 WS2 they are the most average of average joes. compared to bs3 ws3 guardsmen (trained solders)

Inquisition have Acolytes. Flak Armour, Laspistol and Chainsword with standard Human statline for 4pts. Just model the Laspistol as a CCW and never shoot it if you want. 3 Warbands of 12 Acolytes will be 48models for 144points, and you'll just need an Inquisitor to make it Battleforged.

Yes, but you don't need an iPad for it. A Kindle or an Android tablet will be fine (though make sure you get the .epub/.mobi version and not the iBook version then). And you can always view either format on your computer, or print it out for your personal use.

Actually, a thought on those Acolytes - model their Laspistols as your flaming torches. Then they could throw them as a 12", S3, AP- FLAMING TORCH. That would be amazing.

For modeling I'm surprised nobody has brought up either Empire Flagellant Warband or Free Company. Both are nice boxes full of very "villagers with pitchforks" models and you can field them pretty cheap. Throw some 40k bits on them and off you go.

For rules, chaos cultists are pretty flexible. IG conscripts have a big HQ tax if you're willing to pay it (Company command, platoon command, 2 regular squads). Inquisitor warbands are cheap and very flexible, but to field a big mob you'll need to throw Coteaz somewhere else in your army. You could probably find some cheap deamons to fit the bill, just say the mob "materializes" and starts marching. Zombies were also already mentioned, but have a pretty hefty HQ tax as well. None of the tax issues (except for Conscripts platoon commander) are really an issue in Unbound. Allies issues would be your biggest worry trying to fit them in somewhere.
