Well I guess it's super fortunate that this add on doesn't prevent you from doing so.

Well, that wasn't the point of the post. The point was more that those today that use a binder will most likely have to keep using a binder. This compendium will not replace that at this point.

The selling point of the book is not printing 120+ pages of full color. There are many people that printing all those missions would cost more than the price of the book. It's especially nice for all the new players jumping on in season 3.

Hell, I'd pay another $15 for a hardcover rules compendium, if it contianed all the rules for all 3 seasons in it.

I don't even bother with a binder. In the old days, we used to write in our rulebooks and they weren't even in hardcover! Nowadays, I'd just print out a scenario and toss it into the box. And get off of my lawn, while you're at it!

Nowadays I download the pdf, print copies for each player, bind them with a glossy cover and a cardstock back, and handstick the binding on my copy. A few of them I've even created hard covers for.

My last two D&D/Pathinder campaigns I played Wizards with actual printed spellbooks, with ornate covers.

That and it has more in it than just the released missions.

Just posting the last update:

Update #33 Jul 14 2014 - Meet your Angry Neighbors!

During the Season 2 Kickstarter campaign, the "I Am Legend" and "I Am Zombie" levels allowed backers to be turned into Survivors or Zombies in an upcoming Zombicide box. Well, that box is the Angry Neighbors expansion, and now we get to meet the Zombicide incarnation of these backers!

Joining the Survivor ranks, we have Adam Von Bolterstern (Captain Maff), Julien Le Jeune (Shoogoo), Jeff Blakemore (Niranth), and Tiffany Reynolds (Wavsite).

Adam

"If you had the choice, would you go back to your previous life?"

Most people feel uneasy when meeting Adam for the first time. Such a cheerful guy has to be crazy! But Adam puts them at ease in a matter of minutes. He chose to enjoy his newfound life in the zombie apocalypse and gladly shares his positive vibes with anyone around. Except zombies, of course, who feel how proficient this happy warrior is with any weapon, especially melee ones.

Jeff

"We all brought our own solutions to the zombie issue. Tell me about yours!"

A logical mind and skilled marksman, Jeff is used to bringing his unique point of view to any situation arising in the zombie world. More often than not, he's advocating the use of teamwork and precise strikes to reach the intended goals. But then come the times when he goes silent and single-handedly kills scores of zombies one headshot at a time.

Julien

"Stay focused, plan ahead, and pull the trigger!"

Asking about the past is considered impolite these days, but people can hear in Julien's accent that he comes from a foreign country, most probably Europe. Julien is really at ease with urban warfare. He defined a battle style balanced between fury and cold-bloodedness and proves an invaluable asset to the group while wielding any kind of shotgun.

Tiff

"Let's turn the zombies into scream queens!"

Enthusiastic and ready to go to any length to protect her teammates, Tiff embodies the rock n' roll spirit among survivors. She's especially fond of pre-apocalypse items linked to lifestyle and music and likes to see herself as some kind of treasure hunter. Her most prized treasure, however, is her trusty SMG!

Then, filling out the ranks of Seeker zombies, we have the voracious undead versions of Andrew Welch, Rory Wickham, and Shawn Betty.

Finally, rounding out the figures in Angry Neighbors, we have the four types of Companions: the Searcher, the Gunman, the Handyman, and the Spotter.

For the Season 3 campaign, we will not be offering "I Am Legend" and "I Am Zombie" pledge levels due to logistic concerns. However, as we did on previous campaigns, one particularly constructive and enthusiastic backer will be chosen at the end of the campaign to become a Survivor for a future Game Night Kit!

How many survivors does this bring us to, including the game-night ones (Thaigo, Bob) and the other Kickstarter survivors (the two Cos-player ones).

The doors have arrived all 69 of them! - I'll pass on these to much clutter on the board for little benefit.

The 3D Pack contains 69 3D doors and 2 sets of 3D barricades (each set is one complete barricade composed of 2 pieces). The 3D doors fully replace the normal cardboard token doors. When they are open they lock into place so that they don't accidentally close. The 3D pack contains enough doors in all types and colours to set up any mission from Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Toxic City Mall or Angry Neighbors!

Background Info on the 2 new survivors -

Doud the Hospital Boy

“Hey Mr. Zombie, take these lead pills to ease your terminal pain!”

Doud had a spectacular skateboard accident mere hours before the zombie invasion. He awoke in the turmoil, as infected people were turning into zombies and began to attack anyone in sight. His will to live, however, was stronger than the zombie tide. Doud took anything he could find and turned it into a weapon, until he found his first real weapons. He was the one to Molotov the Hospital Central and turn it into a funeral pyre. Despite his awesome feat, Doud still has to be taken care of. Finding medical supplies in a devastated town isn’t easy. Hopefully, his new buddies will help him heal and once he’s in the green again... Payback time.

Tomiko the Psychotic Bunny

“Choppity-chop-chop!”

Little is known of Tomiko’s life before the zombies came. There are whispers that she was an anime cosplayer, a video game fanatic, or even an employee at an amusement park. However, people are in total agreement that she is now crazy. Even zombies seem to avoid Tomiko when she walks down the middle of the street shouting the only words she ever speaks, ‘Choppity-chop-chop!’ Tomiko is good in a fight, wielding her axe with psychotic vigor. Unfortunately, in the heat of battle she often doesn’t distinguish between the living and the dead, and for this reason she never lasts long with any survivor group.

Wow, thanks for that link!

I was familiar with most of his painted Confrontation work, but it's a real treat looking at all that line work.

Time to check Amazon France to see if he's got anything collected in book form...

I like the idea of 3D elements to add some more variety, but when it gets late in the game and there's barely room for heroes and zombies in one square, I'd imagine I'd want something less intrusive to represent a door.

Can't say I'm overly impressed with the new survivor guest box concepts. They seem too...cartoony, and somewhat removed from the rest of the survivors (one of the reasons I passed on the KoW survivors). Will have to judge whether it's a retail purchase later when the sculpts show up.

The new guest box isn't really my cup of tea either. I think I will actually pass it up. Maybe will be persuaded once the total is added, it's only another $20 after all.

The new survivors go one way or another, if you want it gritty, then they are not for you, but if you want the odd, funny, diverse and cartoon-y survivors then they are for you. I enjoy them, but not sure I have the money for them.

The extra doors on the other hand are hit or miss. They seem useful but they may clutter up some stuff. Good add-on at the very least, more choice isn't bad!

Are the new survivors kickstarter only? Or will they hit retail eventually for me to get?

I'm not sure why but I'm finding the survivors designs for season 3 to be very meh.

With the other two sets I was super excited and backed immediately, this time around I'm just not all that keen, I think it has to do with the survivor selection, or maybe I'm just zombie out?

I saw the addition of season 1&2 and thought they were gonna make it come true to get promo stuff from the previous seasons. Alas, that's not happening. And right now I can't afford to justify the purchase of another $150+ Kickstarter, when I have more than enough to keep the game fresh. Might add a couple survivors (like Leonard) and the booklet, but that's about it. I'll get the game itself when it hits retail.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The special guest boxes? they aren't KS exclusive, you can pick them up outside of the KS. The stretch goal unlocked ones? Sadly yeah, not a big fan of KS only stuff, but thems the breaks I'm afraid (I missed out on S1 and S2).

In that case, I'll consider buying them on release.

At $100 + shipping, you're not getting AN or Audrey, but you're still getting a crapton of stuff. The free SG's alone are 60+ miniatures, two sets of dice, decks, etc. Add some PnP fan tiles, and that's a base set, right there!

Prison Outbreak is selling for $70+ on Amazon, so, essentially, you're paying $30 + shipping for VIP and 60+ miniatures. Assuming the VIP box sells for $20, that's $10 + shipping for 60 mini's, including exclusives.

The Experience Deck includes 54 cards and introduces the brand new Experience Mode into the game!

In this mode, Survivors are able to gain extra Skills as they progress through the game, and when you play a subsequent mission with that same Survivor, he gets to start with the special skills he acquired previously!

When playing in Experience Mode, the first time your Survivor reaches a new Danger Level, he not only gains his normal Skill, but he also gets to choose any Experience Card and place it next to his dashboard. Each card grants the Survivor a particular Skill, usually associated with a specific weapon. When the Survivor reaches the next Danger Level, he gets to choose one of his normal Skills, and also one more Experience Card.

When you start a new Mission with that same Survivor, your Equipment and Experience reset normally, but Experience Cards are only discarded if the Survivor is eliminated for good. The Survivor begins the mission with his Blue Level Skill, as well as all Skills granted by the Experience Cards he gained so far. As he gains experience again, he will not get more Experience Cards for reaching a Danger Level he's already reached before. However, if he reaches a level he had not reached in a previous mission, he again chooses a new Experience Card.

This means that, in a normal game, a Survivor can only accumulate a maximum of 3 Experience Cards (one for the first time he reaches Yellow, one for the first time he reaches Orange, and one for the first time he reaches Red). However, if you play in Ultrared Mode, you might be able to gain even more Experience Cards as you reach levels beyond Red!

If you play with Resurrection Mode, the Zombivor version retains all Experience Cards as long as you're not eliminated. However, in subsequent mission you'll have to start as a Zombivor to keep the Experience Cards.

The experience deck seems interesting. Something I've been wanting to see expanded upon since Z1 dropped.

Not sure if I'll be able to juggle a full pledge for Z3 right now, but at the very least that deck not being KS exclusive means I shold be able to get a bit more life out of even my vanilla Zombicide.

Right so I have finally gotten all of Season 2 delivered, lets see what Season 3 is all about then.....

Anyone else think its allot of stuff when you have all 3 seasons? It's not a complaint....just allot of stuff to store?

Zombicide 1&2 take up about 30-40% of my available gaming shelf space.

I need a new house or.............. the Mrs needs less stuff to free up more shelves! Perfect!

We need an audible emoticon so we can hear the little drum riff or a trumpet *wah wah* at the end.

I'm assuming he means that if you're just staring Zombiicde - if this is a person's first box, or maybe they only have 1 other box set, they wouldn't have any need or desire to pay $40 to get the complete set of doors. But they might be keen to pay - say $15 to get the door set for just this season.

Personally I'd like to pick up multiple barricades, but no doors at all. Maybe that will be an option later on.
