And dear lord D. That video... This is the point where I admit I have overestimated the intelligence of some people, and my estimate was already low. "Stop please." Yes stop please. You're embarrassing us all. What are going to tell the Apes when they start taking over and using the internet?

Real life should've taught you that also.

As long as you don't rape people, because rapists are the vilest scum on earth (80% of convicts agree with the previous statement, the other 20% are being raped by the first 80%) /hyperbole

I imagine it's something like this;

Indeed, that is an approximate view of the region between the ears of the average sovereign citizen.

I mean i'm all for opposition. If their had been a riot over the kids for cash scandal I would have joined in, I would have been armed and dangerous but it just passed and the media paid very little attention to it. BP wrecked my hometown and used armed thugs to scare people away, why not send squads of militia after them esaesilly when you'd be legally in your right to fight against people who are harassing people?

The Left also has this same problem, they've rather protest Japanese whalers(while breaking the law and potentially getting people killed) than demand real punishments for companies that make millions through illegal dumping but get fined 25 thousand dollars.

Because politics is based on emotion and identity, not reason. And because there's no great purpose to any of it, people just fight the battles that they happen to get caught up in for whatever reason, and then do what they can with that issue.

So yeah, it means some lady spends tens of thousands of dollars looking after dogs in need in the early stages of the Iraq invasion, while children are dying from a lack of medical care. But such is life, at least she helped some dogs, which is more than the rest of us did.

Oh, and for the record the Japanese whalers were found by international courts to be in breach of the law. The anti-whaling groups won. And while on the water both sides were breaking the law.

Take the desire to not have to pay any income tax, mix it with a lot of paranoia about the Federal government, pour in a large dose of Jesus, and after it sets start covering it with really selective and just plain weird readings of various bits of law... and there you've got a sovereign citizen.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Not someone who thinks they are above the law, more someone who looks at the law in the same way that Dan Brown looks at the great renaissance works. Instead of taking it as a work of substance and meaning, they see it as an abstract puzzle, and then go looking for secret clues that can be picked apart to find answers to a secret conspiracy that exists entirely in their own minds.
