Started work on the Dark Vengeance Cultists. Hopefully I'm doing them justice.

I really like the weathering and the green and blue you've used, makes it look as if he's wearing ordinary clothes and I like the idea that this could be a regular person who was secretly worshipping the Chaos Gods (as is often described in the background) but then the mask goes on and the home made weapons come out. Great stuff.

As a RG colorblind person, I'm always interested in certain techniques. Would it be too much to ask how you did the weathering on the metal?

I too have colour blindness, I have to check the paint name when it comes to red and brown otherwise things can go very bad.

As for the weathering, First I basecoat in gunmetal, or lead blecher. Give it a good coating of a black wash...Then drybrush my way through gunmetal, iron breaker and then necron compound. then I spot areas with a sepia wash, not everywhere just bits...Then i use a thin brush and use the ForgeWorld weathering powders. On this one I used the soot black and orange rust, after that it was a case of chipping it...for that I use either a sponge for arge areas, or a real thin brush tip for egdes and detail.

Hope that makes some kinda sense.

The colors are the main thing, thank you very much for getting back.

I've got no experience with weathering powders, and no projects on my table that are needing any rust effects, but I'm always keeping my eye out for interesting things.

The weathering on the weapons does indeed look great, the rust, chips and oil stains really stand out, nice work!

I also really love your skin tone, gives those dirty heretics a nice jaundiced look!

I really like the weapon style on this model. I was looking for a new style for my fourth GH squad, might just adopt this !
